I was contacted by a fine fellow Kossack who always is trying to help others. I want to copy what she has written about her dire situation and ask all who can, try to help.
"I've been pretty darn healthy most of my 58 years -- right up until February of 2020, when I became one of the first Richmonders to contract Covid. It was a few days before they started covering it in the news; I just thought I had a bad flu, or possibly pneumonia. I was working a campaign at the time so I limped through until Super Tuesday and then collapsed.
I was sick for months, and came out the other end with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and fibromyalgia, plus in the three years since I've developed arthritis in my hips and back. I was intensely grateful for the stimulus checks and the "enhanced" unemployment coverage -- I have a very frugal lifestyle, so was able to make that money stretch for more than two years, until I finally applied for disability last June.
It's been a long slow process, and I've liquidated everything saleable to make it this far. The biggest thing was my 2012 Odyssey, I sold it and got an old 2000 Chevy instead. The difference covered my rent thru February. I hate to be turning to the community to ask for help, but I truly am out of options and have no way to pay last month and April.
(I feel like such a lousy kitty mommy -- I never in a million years thought I'd be at risk of losing the roof over their heads)
I think her goal should be 5000.00…..Let’s get this done.
My disability lawyer says it should only take ten to twelve more weeks for SSA to process my claim, then another four to six weeks before payments actually start. So I've got 3-4 months still to try and eke out. On the upside I have what I am pretty certain is the cheapest apartment in Richmond, and even with phone, insurance, and kitty food and litter, I manage to keep my costs down to roughly $1000 a month. So I'm trying to raise $4500 which would cover everything for four months, with even a little breathing room.
Any help you can give would be SO great. I know times are tight all over! I'm still adjusting to the fact that I went from being able to handle the 80+ hours a week of a presidential campaign to where I'm at now. It's really frustrating.
Huge thanks to Vetwife for her support and for helping draw attention to my situation, and thank YOU for taking the time to stop by!"
I know she hated to ask for any help at all but we are a community and she helped so much bring attentiion to the custody battle my great granddaughter was involved in. We should reach out to her if able as a little goes a long way when one is facing homelessness not to mention losing her kittens.

Thank you all in advance and please remember that she is an activist, a kitty Mama and needs our help desperately. We can’t be republican like and let someone with this kind of heart fall by the wayside. Please Help.
