The New York Times is reporting that RT, the Russian state-controlled television network that broadcasts in English, has offered Tucker Carlson a job to replace the job that he just lost at Fox News.
Although RT is trolling (they love to bash the USA), I’m all for this idea. RT loves to push conspiracy theories that attack the USA, and Tucker Carlson loves to do the same thing. They’re two peas in a pod. They’re like P. T. Barnum and J. A. Bailey, or like Milli and Vanilli. It’s a natural fit.
To my mind the only reason Carlson wouldn’t take the job, is if Newsmax pays better, or if Carlson and his senior executive producer Justin Wells (also now without a job) can start their own network to compete with Fox News, Newsmax, etc. But c’mon, Putin’s pockets are way deeper than Newsmax’s. And even if Carlson starts his own network (and maybe takes Russian or Saudi money to do it) I doubt whether he’d make as much money as RT would offer him, given the startup delay and the fact that fame loses its luster quickly if unused.
Take the RT job, Tucker Carlson! Your audience loves you!
