This Cartoon Was Censored by Twitter
Note Added by JnH
No censoring by anyone.
The cartoon above by Dennis Goris may well be the very best editorial cartoon I have seen in the past decade. Maybe ever! It perfectly captures what many women like E. Jean Carroll feel about Trump. ‘tis called turning the tables on this disgusting, vile excuse for a human being.
Then, a similar cartoon (though more graphic) was censored tonight by Twitter. I retrieved it from the Twitter page of the cartoonist in question, Chris Britt. I posted it in the comments section — This Editorial Cartoon Went Online a Few Minutes Ago
5th Avenue can be deadly for your political health.
The Verdict
Following Trump’s guilty verdict this afternoon, here are the early returns from editorial cartoonists.
It looks like Trump finally made it back to 5th Avenue in New York City. It turned out a wee bit different than he had envisioned.
I have also included several cartoons that I had collected as late as last night. I’m fairly certain that more cartoons will go online this evening. I’ll add them as fast as I can find them.
Thanks for supporting these diaries.

Running on Empty?
Ronald Reagan was often referred to as the “Teflon President.” No matter what he did wrong — trading arms for hostages in the Iran-Contra Scandal, dozing off in meetings with foreign leaders, and the like — his diehard supporters never held such political mistakes, large or small, against him and his personal popularity never suffered.
With Donald Trump, it’s much more than that. As egregious as his crimes are, if anything, his popularity seems to go up when he commits them.
“Call it the Trump Law of Inverse Reactions: Everything that would seem to hurt the former president only makes him stronger,” Axios reports.
“Trump’s grip over Republicans seems stronger than ever — and chances of beating President Biden are as high as ever.”
“For the first time in a long time, top Republicans and Democrats are telling us the same thing, in the same words — Trump looks impossible to beat for the Republican nomination.”
Will it Work in 2024? Doubtful
Until now. Following this afternoon’s verdict — in which Trump was found liable of battery and defamation — the jury awarded his accuser, journalist/author E. Jean Carroll, $5 million in damages.
Is this the turning point where the public finally sees Trump for the disgusting human being he really is? Read the various academic studies cited in the below article and one might rationally conclude that this verdict may be devastating to Trump in the General Election and probably make him virtually unelectable — even if he becomes the GOP nominee in 2024.
Yes, the 2024 Election is an eternity away, but, still…
What peer-reviewed studies and survey data tell us
Ryan Goodman and Norm Eisen: “The unanimous jury verdict that has turned Donald Trump from an alleged sexual assaulter into a proven one may create political shockwaves if recent history is any guide.”
“As numerous empirical studies have shown, the American public has come to view sexual assault as a form of abusing power that can disqualify a perpetrator from holding public office. Trump may suffer significant political damage from this new majoritarian understanding.”
