Greetings, my crunchy critters, another Friday is upon us. This week I've got a few recent photos from the world of werelynxing to kick off this little community open thread.
Remember that garden of mine?
Well, here's an update from last weekend:
Apparently we got enough rain the week before. All but the parsley root seeds had sprouted. One of the pumpkin plants had vanished. Quite a few of the beans had been munched by slugs. Hey, I'll take the loss, the two pepper plants that I thought I’d lost had recovered— their wilted tops lost under fresh foliage.
I quite overdid it last weekend. There were so many weeds!
I cut back the black currants and dug up and raked smooth the area in front of them. Nearly all of the zucchini had popped up, so I dug up about half of them, thinning the herd, and transplanted them into a long mound of their own. So much digging!
I also drug out the angle grinder and cut a grid of rebar in half. I'm using it for a trellis for the cucumbers.
Of course the highlight of gardening last week was watching the Redstart family. The chubby, fluffy, little fledglings would perch on the fence and on the gutters of the chalupa and their parents were keeping a close eye on them and keeping them well-fed.
And now for three leftovers:
Thanks for stopping by.
