Welcome to another Saturday night of music, memories, and conversations. Last week we celebrated the Seven Deadly Sins. This week we're celebrating what often results from succumbing to the sin of lust – marriage and weddings – 'cuz love is an angel disguised as lust.
June is traditionally wedding season, and musical couples have worked together for a long time – Louis Prima and Keely Smith, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Sonny and Cher, the hot mess that was Fleetwood Mac in the 70s, Thurston Smith and Kim Gordon, Jack and Meg White, and others.
One of the more longest-lasting musical couples is Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. of the 5th Dimension, who performed Laura Nyro's “Wedding Bell Blues” on their 1969 album Age of Aquarius – released in April 1969, and Billy Davis Jr. got the hint – they married on July 27, 1969, and have been together ever since.

Weddings have traditions – in Pittsburgh, there's the tradition of the cookie table, which is exactly what it sounds like – a table of cookies at the reception for guests. Just don't invite this guy....
Cookie Monster - “C is for Cookie”
There’s also the tradition of the bride having or wearing something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue, as well as a sixpence for her shoe.....be as creative or obvious as you like!
Skating Polly w/ Kate Nash - “Blue Obvious”
