Hello and welcome to another Friday-flavored open thread. I do hope you're feeling delicious, my darlings. This might just be a placeholder for bigger things. I'm writing this within a few short hours of a trip to Vaclav Havel airport in Prague. Yes, hopefully, when this publishes I'll have been a flying thing again. If all goes well, and my buddy Mora at Swiss Air didn't skip any steps on his airplane maintenance duties, I'll be running around Madison, Wisconsin— hugging and crying like a fountain. In the meantime, I'll post a few photos from this weekend to this here diary thing and drop it in the queue.
At the family's little place out in the country, we watched a little ballooning club launch itself into the evening sky from across the fields.
From a field on a forested ridge, they launched 8 balloons that we saw. There could have been more earlier that we hadn't caught. Some years we've seen as many as 20 balloons launch from this same spot.
Things were flying in the garden too. Many of the plants had doubled in size. Next time we get up there we should have some cucumbers waiting.
But the oregano was where the action was.
Gotta fly, hope to see you in the comments.
