To hear a certain country music artist tell it, Country folk, on the other hand, are good upstanding people, proudly independent and self-sufficient.
Cities, on the other hand, are hell holes of crime and corruption, sin and immorality, cheats and freeloaders. America doesn’t need them.
Small towns,, however, do.
Lets start with two things near and dear to their country hearts — trucks and guns.
Name one small town with a Chevy plant. Or a plant that makes Chevy parts. Or a plant that makes Chevy bumper stickers. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
Name a small town where AR15s are made. Go ahead — google Armalite and look under locations. Hell, look and see if any small town manufactures ammunition for the gun.
Small towns do not make trucks. Or guns.
Or medicine. Or gasoline.
There are no electrical generation stations in a small town. No internet server farms.
A small town without cities would look a lot like an Amish settlement. Except the Amish have some city made items as well.
Without cities, country folk would have to get along with a whole lot of nothing. Try that in a small town.
