Trudy Berry, a candidate running for Virginia’s 9th Senate district, has a philosophy:
PEOPLE before Politics
PEOPLE before Party
PEOPLE FIRST
She really lives this in her life also. She is so supportive of...everyone.
Her twitter and Facebook feeds are full of retweets about other candidates! I thought that was a defect at first before I realized it was a feature, a nice one.
Trudy served in the U.S. Air Force after high school graduation, received an Administrative Specialist Course Honor Graduate certificate, worked as a Legal Services Specialist, and received an honorable discharge.
In the ‘you won’t believe it’ category, she was born and raised in Michigan just like me! Turns out we even went to the same high school! Unlike me, she went for 4 years, and was inducted into the Honor Society and received the John & Elizabeth Whitely Business Award for Outstanding Student. (I left the school halfway through the year and attended 2 other high schools before finally giving up on the whole thing up.)
Trudy went to Longwood University in Virginia, getting a BS in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice. At the graduate level, she received a Certificate in Social Policy Administration. Doesn’t that seem perfect for a Senator?
Everyone deserves a job with fair wages, affordable healthcare and housing, a clean environment, protection from gun violence, and the ability to vote.
About her opponent she says:
The incumbent Senator has represented corporations and large donors for six terms (24 years). It is time to break the chain of corporate representation and to address constituent concerns.
She is the progressive voice that is perfect for this district. Let’s return her support with ours!
