In 1796, the Nation was prepared to elect George Washington as President. Washington was 64 years old and could have been king, if he wanted. Washington said, "No!" and set a precedent that was observed until 1940, when Franklin Roosevelt, near the end of the Depression and just before World War II, Roosevelt ran for and was elected to a 3rd term. In 1944, Roosevelt was elected to a 4th term and died in 1945 after his re-election.
In 1951, the People of the United States approved the 22nd Amendment limiting the Presidency to 2 terms.
Thank you Mr. Biden for your service to our Nation. Your defeat of trump in 2020 was essential to the preservation of American Democracy.
I am 73 years old. Three months ago, I was riding my John Deere tractor, grading the driveway to our home. Today, I am in a hospital bed, after 5 blood transfusions in the past two days. I am suffering from complications of a routine surgery.
Manana is a beautiful day!
Mr.Biden, you could take a Washingtonian step and leave a precedent for the future by stepping up and stating that 80 years old is too old to lead our Nation.
The majority of the American People would prefer a younger candidate as a Choice.
Thank you for your service Mr. Biden.
A contested election for the Democratic nomination for President would energize the People.
