The Fossil Fools are still trying to gaslight us, lying that we can’t AFFORD cheaper and cleaner energy, saving Real MoneyTM, real lives, and the only available real planet. But we have them by the short numbers—many trillions of dollars short.
Big Renewable Energy Spending, Big Benefits for These ETFs
A recently published study by Dartmouth College indicates that from 1992 to 2013, global GDP was sapped to the tune of $16 trillion due to extreme temperatures. It’s just one example, but it paints a picture as to why the renewable energy investment theme has long-term legs.
For investors, the runway for renewable energy investing is expansive. So are the choices, but stock-picking in this arena is difficult. That underscores the benefits of exchange traded funds, of which there are plenty providing access to clean technology and green energy equities. Renewable energy ETFs [exchange-traded funds] could be the ideal avenues for advisors and investors looking to tap themes such as increased clean energy adoption and increases in government spending [investment]. Data confirm both catalysts are afoot and growing.
These are the kind of numbers that our self-proclaimed opponents claim to live by. Every time they try to own the Libs on this—the scientists, politicians actually concerned about human welfare, and all the rest of us—they end up pwning themselves, both by killing people and species, and by refusing to make money or earn votes. In response, we get to point and laugh. Thus.
The Hill opinion: EPA is ignoring the glaring problem with dirty electric vehicles
👆👆😂😂👆👆👆👆😂😂👆👆👆👆😂😂👆👆
For the trillions of dollars Global Boiling [sic, per the UN] is costing the world today, we could have solved this problem decades ago. We can’t go back and fix that, but we can go long on renewables today, every one of us—politically, financially, technologically—at home, locally, nationally, globally.
Do you have an electric car yet? Are you thinking about it? What about a heat pump for heating and cooling your house, and heating water? Or maybe you would like to start small, with a one-”burner” induction cooker. Let us know where you are on all of that.
Have you talked to your town or county officials and parties about electric ambulances, cop cars, fire trucks, school buses...and solar panels on roofs and over parking lots, and energy storage and all of that? Even in the Reddest areas, you can ask them about saving taxpayer money.
I can’t guarantee that they will listen to you, but at some point they have to listen to others who dislike waste in government. Oh, and you can ask them what they invest their tax revenue in before they put it to use. Renewables have better returns than most conventional investments, and fossil fuels are guaranteed to go under as they die the Death of a Million Cuts.

Reducing food waste is one of the biggest opportunities for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the world—more than restoring forests, insulating buildings, and driving electric vehicles combined. In Pittsburgh, Alexis Cromer and coworkers at the nonprofit 412 Food Rescue are doing their part by redistributing surplus food from grocery stores, caterers, and others to those in need. Watch this inspiring Drawdown’s Neighborhood mini-doc of Cromer’s work. Is there a similar opportunity in your community? If not, might you be the change? “The payback is immediate—and constant,” Cromer says. Share your thoughts and actions around food waste at stories@drawdown.org.

In California, Car Buyers Are Choosing Electricity Over Gasoline in Record Numbers
1 in 4 new cars sold in California in the second quarter of 2023 were plug-in electric cars and trucks.
Another sign of the rapid changes occurring is that for the first time Tesla was the top selling brand in California, edging out Toyota for the top spot. The Tesla Model Y was also the top-selling model of car or truck in California, more than doubling the sales of the best-selling gasoline car (Toyota Camry) and truck/SUV (Toyota RAV4).
Thinking of buying an electric car in Colorado? You could soon get $26,500 in discounts
Colorado’s current $5,000 tax credit is already the most generous state-level incentive available to all residents. With additional programs set to go live in the next few months, the state is now poised to test the full power of EV discounts — a pillar of the statewide plan to reduce carbon emissions. Gov. Jared Polis is betting the strategy can help reach a goal of putting nearly a million plug-in vehicles on the road by 2030.
Gov. Jared Polis has put electric vehicles at the center of the state’s climate plans. His administration has set a goal to put 940,000 light-duty electric vehicles on the road by 2030, a vast increase from the 86,000 plug-in cars currently driving around the state.
