Republicans who admitted there is no evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden.
David Joyce said, "Hmm not seeing any facts or evidence. "
Don Bacon said, "There should be a direct link to the president in some evidence. "
Dusty Johnson of South Dakota said, "I'm not seeing that evidence. "
Morgan State Political Science Professor Jason Johnson took over duties for Joy Reid who could not do her show yesterday. He quoted MTG who said impeach Biden now or I'll shut down the government. The fact that she has to say this instead of republicans in Congress simply going ahead with an impeachment shows the division within the Republican Party and that shows the lack of evidence. If they had serious evidence, then they would have gone ahead and impeached President Biden and then either funded or shut down government.
Representative Jared Moskowitz said that now you've got Freedom Caucus members admitting that they have no evidence to justify impeaching President Biden. The reason would be because Donald Trump was impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, specifically for extorting the president of Ukraine, Zelenskyy, and for inciting the insurrection, therefore, they must impeach President Biden in order to help Donald Trump win the 2024 presidential election.
"Representative Ken Buck calls Marjorie Taylor Greene's comments on timeline for Biden impeachment inquiry 'absurd' " because "evidence doesn't actually exist" . Now, I don't think that this means Buck opposes impeaching President Biden. It appears that even the 18 republicans who represent congressional districts that President Biden won will vote for an impeachment. I guess their reasoning might be that their votes only come from republican voters, so trying to appeal to anybody else is a waste of time. That's dumb for at least several reasons: (1) too many republicans in purple congressional districts are moderates who don't or aren't likely to support impeaching President Biden without evidence which they don't have (2) independents don't support impeaching President Biden (3) if all partisan voters vote strictly for their political party, then the republican loses in many of these districts. So, supporting impeaching President Biden without evidence which, again, they don't have, is a political loser. And while an impeachment inquiry is not identical to impeaching the president, it usually leads to impeachment and the public won't differentiate between the two. They might not like Donald Trump criticizing them, but Donald Trump lost their congressional district.
Professor Johnson said, 'Nevermind that Buck is just one of numerous republicans who have admitted out loud that there's no evidence, it was just political theater. The divide between the right wing and the further, further extra crispy right wing of the Republican caucus has McCarthy considering a devil's bargain, an impeachment inquiry for the MAGA wing to avert a government shutdown. "
Moskowitz said, 'If the polling showed that the American people wanted Joe Biden impeached, you can be sure republicans would have launched this inquiry already. But as soon as the articles got filed, they buried them in committee. They buried them in Homeland Security. They didn't want to talk about it. You have got republican members, Freedom Caucus members coming out trying to delay impeachment. That tells me they know this is not good for them if they want to hold onto the majority in the House. The Washington Post analyzed the data from polls and found
.
the Reuters/Ipsos poll, Americans agreed, 51 percent to 33 percent, that Hunter Biden’s legal troubles were “independent of and unrelated to” Biden’s service as president. Independents said that by a 2-1 margin, and even 32 percent of Republicans agreed.
And while half of Americans in the Fox News poll saw something illegal in Hunter Biden’s actions, 38 percent said the same of the president’s supposed connection to “his son’s business dealings.”
That 38 percent is overwhelmingly Republican, with just 33 percent of independents seeing something illegal in the president’s actions.
That poll also showed that 57 percent of independents supported the Trump inquiry, compared to 33 percent for Biden today. And even 28 percent of Republicans supported an inquiry of Trump, compared to 11 percent of Democrats who support one of Biden now.

The right wing rag, the hill, wrote
.
The poll, conducted by Public Policy Polling and commissioned by the Congressional Integrity Project, both of which lean Democratic, found 56 percent of registered voters think a GOP impeachment inquiry into Biden would be a “partisan political stunt,” including 20 percent of Trump voters and 88 percent of Biden voters. When grouped by party affiliation, 30 percent of Republicans and 81 percent of Democrats held this view.

And what was their headline : "divided along partisan lines" Holy Shit is Sarah Fortinsky and the rest of these asses transparent.

Methodology and reception
Statistician Nate Silver stated that PPP had a tendency to slightly lean Democratic by 1% as of January 2022. As of January 2022, Silver's website, FiveThirtyEight, gave PPP a A− grade in its pollster ranking.

MSNBC notes that the poll is IN THE 18 CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS REPRESENTED BY REPUBLICANS THAT PRESIDENT BIDEN WON
.
The Democrat-aligned Congressional Integrity Project commissioned a poll from Public Policy Polling asking voters in the 18 Republican-held districts won by Biden in 2020 about the legitimacy of the GOP’s impeachment plans. And the returns ought to concern McCarthy and Co.
About 56% of people polled in these districts said an impeachment inquiry would be “a partisan political stunt," compared with 41% who said it’d be “a serious effort to investigate important problems.”

PPP did you House Republicans a solid here. You might want to shut this shit down and make sure that this doesn't happen and do what you CAN DO to get the government funded. Unless you want to lose. And McCarthy if you are as desperate to hold the Speaker's gavel as you have shown yourself to be, then you need to call off the bullshit and tell the members that unless they want to be in the minority, they need to stop it and find the government. Is leading a minority caucus that great a gig? You gave up all your dignity and what little reputation or honor you had ONLY WHEN IT WAS FOR THE TOP JOB IN THE HOUSE. If you keep a majority, who's going to get more votes than you? They have to put somebody in the post. No way MTG gets 218 votes for speaker. Or any of the other even more nutty members of your caucus.
