The X owner said erecting a paywall around the business would ward off the bots, or automated accounts, that have become a bugbear for Musk.
Speaking in a meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, the Tesla CEO and world’s richest person suggested that X was going to charge its user base.
I joined Twitter in 2009, but I didn’t use it much, and then stopped altogether in 2017 when it became Trump’s unhinged avenue to reach his cult members with his torrent of filthy lies. I started using it again in May of 2022, I had six followers. Now I have 840 followers. But if I have to pay, I’m done with Xitter.
