Hi all:
I tend to give updates about what I am doing in Central PA for my countywide seat (Recorder of Deeds in Centre County) and how things are going.
I am happy (and honored) to be the only candidate endorsed by the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Organization for Women. It’s good to be recognized for my advocacy for the rights of all.
Onto other campaign stuff based on some results/feedback...
My support among Democrats (that respond) is well, approximately 83%. With Republicans, it ranges from about 10% to 20% support (depending on demographic) out of those who respond. Independents (that respond) support my opponent by about two to one, assuming all undecideds go in his favor. This is the advantage he has being in office for 24 years.
So far this week I’ve knocked about 200 doors in rural areas with a fairly receptive audience. Most of the folks acknowledge the need to work on addressing affordable housing, which the Recorder of Deeds office can help with in terms of recommending policies, fee schedules for affordable housing initiatives, and so on (it does need a county ordinance). I have also been doing a lot of outreach regarding infrequent voters.
Last week, the robocalls/texts/live calling began. Overall supportive, but not as supportive as we would like (mainly due to people moving). This work has been done with two great groups, Rideshare2Vote and Red2Blue. Between the both of them, it’s been over 24,000 points of contact in the last two weeks (not including canvassing aka door knocking). The main reason I am using them is to also provide better data to set up for 2024. The better the data we have, the more efficient our outreach and persuasion methods will be. In other words, I am working on the long game to help Democrats win up and down the ballot.
If anyone wants to check out my website regarding some ideas I have, go to www.zeiglerforpa.com.
If you want to volunteer or donate to help out my campaign (which is driving up Democratic voter turnout for judicial races and school board races as well here in Pennsylvania), by all mean click on volunteer or donate.
And to get some feedback, I’m looking to do some texting outreach to folks under the age of 40. I would like your thoughts on that. Should I text all registered voters (age 40 and under) asking them if they believe affordable housing is an issue in Centre County?
Thanks for reading and for the support, I appreciate it.
