Good morning, fellow gardeners, and welcome to the garden! We welcome all people, to come visit and soak in green and flowering things, hopefully leaving refreshed for the day. Tell us what you have or wish to have as a garden, whether it's thousands of acres or a windowsill.
I'm filling in for Missy's Brother with a diary today, although he will be here to host. The photo image uploads seem to be working for some and not others. Maybe we can note in the comments if we have trouble with photos or not. The Help Desk is on it, hopefully it's now resolved. I confess I had trouble last week but it seemed to fix itself. I uploaded photos but they disappeared when I went back to my images to retrieve it for the diary. Eventually they stuck. This time I uploaded and plopped a photo right into the diary without closing the window and so far so good.
Fall starts today and it is obvious. The colors are showing at all elevations, even though it's a little delayed this year. I anticipate a colorful season. I do love fall because it's so photogenic. It's usually perfect weather. Monday I might wander up to our local ski area with my Canon; my neighbor told me it's looking very fall-like. I also have a birthday in the fall. It is definitely a season of change for me.
Charlie likes to cool off in the water at a local dog park.
Weather people are predicting a nice autumn and lots of moisture coming our way this winter, hopefully. So far cool nights and midday 80's are temps everyone loves, even the flowers.
I've never grown cannas and I will start. They shrugged off the heat although I had to use Tiger Bloom to get them going. Now they're nonstop blooms. I have a yellow one also. Beautiful!
I will start paying attention to the house plants soon, it is getting chilly and I want to repot outdoors. I met a client/friend at the nursery and they let me help her repot some plants that she bought into new pots. I hope they do well.
Thriving echeveria at home.
Happy fall! Show off your fall colors and get out the pumpkins, unless you have deer. I hear from people that it's a favorite snack. We have a skunk as a neighbor. We will not be having pumpkins.
