Republicans who argue there are two standards of justice are right, but NOT the way they think. Criminal Defendant Trump is being treated with greater kindness and generosity than most any other criminal defendant at any time in American history. No criminal defendant has ever remained at liberty despite disparaging and threatening co defendants, judges, potential jurors, prosecutors, and witnesses in four different venues. Defendants who do that have their bail revoked and are held in pretrial detention. Not Trump.
Even though criminal defendant Trump's defense attorneys are doing a lousy job, Trump could still manage to get at least one juror in every one of his jury trials who will declare him "not guilty". His past successes indicate that could happen. He could go free while hundreds are jailed for helping him perpetrate his crimes.
Trump is at liberty. He could be elected even if he loses the general election by over ten million votes and even if he (initially) loses the electoral college by over 50 votes. Republican controlled state legislatures in states where Trump loses, have the power to reject the lost election results and to reward the state's electoral votes to Trump. The conservative majority of the Supreme Court would be unlikely to nullify that injustice.
