I’ve been meaning to write this diary for a few days now, but I just now got a link to the TV ad that Democratic Governor Andy Beshear’s campaign has put up against Republican State Attorney General Daniel Cameron. And I will let you all be the judge:
Here is more background of Hadley Duvall’s nightmarish experience with her step father:
www.wbko.com/…
The pictures of Hadley as a little girl in the link above are just too striking, in my humble opinion. She was a real little girl who had been repeated raped by her step father, until he got her pregnant at the age of 12. I can’t find any information, so far, with when her step father was finally caught. The story states that he is finally serving time in prison for what he did to Hadley.
But here is a Kentuckian who would have suffered if Kentucky’s abortion law had been in effect.
And what does Daniel Cameron have to say? Let’s go to Joseph Gerth of the Louisville Courier-Journal for his take on Cameron’s reaction to Hadley’s story:
Gerth: Daniel Cameron thinks he's the real victim, not the child who was raped
Daniel Cameron watched Andy Beshear’s new ad that features a young woman who was raped by her stepfather when she was 12 years old and he thought he was the victim.
Shortly after the ad appeared, Cameron’s campaign released a statement in which he accused Beshear of “disgusting false attacks” and whined that Beshear is running “the most despicable campaign in Kentucky history.”
Never mind that the ad is correct.
What’s truly disgusting is forcing a child rape victim to have her attacker's baby.
What's also pretty disgusting is that in his response, the Republican nominee for governor’s first thought wasn’t of the real victim here and other young women and girls like her.
It was about himself and the damage she did to his campaign.
And she did damage to his campaign.
The ad is powerful.
It features a 21-year-old woman from Owensboro who said she was raped by her stepfather when she was a child. In the ad, the woman identified as “Hadley” speaks directly to the camera — and to Cameron — about the abortion law that he has said repeatedly he supports.
Cameron has proudly embraced Kentucky’s abortion law that only provides an exception for the life of the mother. He proudly states he is prolife (gag). However, he flip flop right before this ad hit the airwaves. Cameron NOW says that he would sign an abortion law with exceptions for rape/incest IF the legislature sends him such a bill.
As I have previously states, the Republican super majority in the legislature were the bastards who put in place that trigger law for abortion. No way in hell do they ever send an abortion bill with rape and incest exceptions to the governor. Cameron know this, so his flip flop is to fool those who still support the right to an abortion to think, “Well, he is not all bad.”
Fuck Daniel Cameron! And good on Hadley Duvall for speaking up!
