We all need to push back hard on any BS that fascism is left-wing.
The right-wing messaging is purposefully trying to project Hitler and fascism as left-wing in order to hide who they are.
Here are some talking points.
"Beginning on May 10, 1933, Nazi-dominated student groups carried out public burnings of books they claimed were “un-German.” The book burnings took place in 34 university towns and cities. Works of prominent Jewish, liberal, and leftist writers ended up in the bonfires. The book burnings stood as a powerful symbol of Nazi intolerance and censorship."

Q1: If Hitler was left wing, why would he burn all of his own party's books????
"From its rise to power in 1933, the Nazi regime built a series of incarceration sites to imprison and eliminate real and perceived "enemies of the state." Most prisoners in the early concentration camps were political prisoners—German Communists, Socialists, Social Democrats—as well as Roma (Gypsies), Jehovah's Witnesses, gay men and men accused of homosexuality, and persons accused of "asocial" or socially deviant behavior."

Q2: If Hitler was left wing, why did he send all left leaders to concentration camps????
"In September 1919, Hitler attended a meeting of one of these groups in Munich, the German Workers’ Party. This small political organization sought to convert German workers away from Marxist Socialism. At the meeting, Hitler’s public speaking skills attracted notice. He was recruited to a leading role.
In 1920, Hitler changed the Party’s name to the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. “National Socialism” was a racist and antisemitic political theory. It had been developed in Hitler’s native Austria as the antithesis of Marxist Socialism and Communism. "

Q3: If Hitler was left wing, how can he also be anti-Marxist and anti-Communist??
The answer to those 3 questions is simple: Hitler and fascism ARE NOT left wing.
In fact,
"Fascism is a far-right theory of government that opposes the political philosophies of the Enlightenment and the 19th century, including democratic liberalism, communism, and socialism."

Which is why neonazis, antisemetics and white supremacists all back Trump.
BTW, what is 'National Socialism'?
"National Socialism (Nazism) represented much more than a political movement. The Nazi leaders who came to power in January 1933 wanted more than just political authority. They wanted to change the cultural landscape: to promote what they considered to be traditional “German” and “Nordic” values, to remove Jewish, “foreign,” and “degenerate” influences, and to shape a racial community which aligned with Nazi ideals."

Not left-wing at all. Not even close.
