Donald Trump refuses to sign a Pledge NOT to overthrow the U.S. government.
Trump previously signed the Illinois Pledge — twice — but this time around he says “No Dice!”
I guess, Team Trump is just not that into pledges or commitments to protect the Constitution anymore. Not since they got an object lesson in how easy it is for him to rile up his followers, to carry out his heinous rebellious acts.
Who needs free and fair Election, when you think you can take Power, by force?

[...] Donald Trump on the third anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack for refusing to sign an Illinois loyalty oath that says he won’t advocate to overthrow the government.
The WBEZ/Chicago Sun-Times reported Saturday that Trump did not voluntarily sign the loyalty oath this year when he and his campaign registered for the primary ballot in Illinois. The former president signed the oath in 2016 and 2020.
Candidates who sign the oath - including Biden and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis - attest that they “do not directly or indirectly teach or advocate the overthrow of the government of the United States or of this state or any unlawful change in the form of the governments thereof by force or any unlawful means.”

Who needs such niceties like promises and pledges, when the would-be Dictator has his mob, to carry out his bidding. Next time around when he issues his marching orders, his devoted foot-soldiers will be armed to the teeth.
Never mind that those orders come direct from the career Conman — who’s never met a Law, that he wouldn’t break.
The Trump “terminating of the Constitution” is already in motion — who knew?
There are many valid reasons why candidates should not “teach or advocate the overthrow of the government of the United States,” as the state of Illinois expects them to do. And Donald Trump no longer gives two wits about about those reasons.
Afterall, he considers himself to be “Above the Law” … as we are all learning more and more with each new revealing day.

“I was in the vicinity of a conversation where I overheard the President say something to the effect of, you know, “I -- I don’t effing care that they have weapons. They’re not here to hurt me. Take the effing mags away. Let my people in. They can march to the Capitol from here.”
