The moment this plant blew up was caught on video. Makes you think maybe they knew it was coming.
They’ll have to come up with a better bullshit story than “short circuit.”
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a workshop producing fillings for mattresses and pillows caught fire. Russian media "Mash" calls the preliminary cause of the fire a short circuit
A Russian BMP gets a serious ass whipping from the Bradley’s 25mm gun.
The German Bundestag has rejected a motion to support giving Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. The Ruling SPD voted unanimously against the motion. My understanding is that the vote was not binding one way or the other.
Russia is still freezing.
I’m not as optimistic that Russia’s winter freeze will result in an uprising, but I have my fingers crossed. A black swan event is an extremely negative one that was impossible or difficult to have predicted, like a stock market crash.
Sevsk is a small town in Russia just east of the border with Ukraine. Looks like the tail rotor hit power lines.
This is what lying out of your ass looks like.
Burn, baby, burn.
What a coincidence! Hungary suddenly wants to be cooperative. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the EU voting to strip Hungary’s voting rights.
Violent protests began in Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan, which is near the border with Kazakhstan, over the prosecution of activist Fail Alsynov.
Riot police fired tear gas, flash grenades and used batons to disperse demonstrators in Russia’s Bashkortostan region after a local activist was sentenced on Wednesday to four years in prison.
Videos showed supporters of Fail Alsynov clashing with police near the court where he had been convicted of inciting ethnic hatred, according to Russian state media outlet RIA Novosti.
Bashkortostan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs called the demonstrations an “unauthorized rally” and said police have begun investigating “mass unrest,” in a post on Telegram.
Some 20 people have been detained by police, according to OVD-Info, an independent Russian protest monitoring group. CNN cannot independently verify this number, but Russia has routinely carried out mass arrests at protests.
Thousands of demonstrators gathered outside a public building in the remote town of Baymak, with some waving the blue, white and green flag of Bashkortostan region, which neighbors Kazakhstan.
The reason for the criminal prosecution of the activist was his speech delivered at a citizens’ gathering in the village of Ishmurzino in April 2023. Residents of the Baymak region then came out to protest against gold mining on the Irandyk mountain range. Alsynov used the phrase “kara halyk,” which was translated as “black people.” However, now in modern Turkic languages it is used simply to refer to the people, local residents report.
The denunciation of the activist was written by the head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov. Investigators believed that Alsynov expressed himself negatively towards migrant workers from Central Asia and residents of the Caucasus. Khabirov also demanded that the activist be checked for “discrediting the army” and “public calls for extremism.”
In October 2022, Fail Alsynov wrote an appeal calling on the Bashkirs not to participate in the war in Ukraine."
The authorities shut down the Internet and blocked all entrances to the courthouse where local activist Fail Alsynov, who is accused of extremism, was sentenced. Last year, he appealed to the Bashkirs not to go to fight in Ukraine.
The protests also demand the resignation of the head of the region, who denounced Alsynov.
The protesters are going to need more than snowballs.
Unfortunately individual protests like this will result in nothing other than a prison sentence. Family members will have to band together and start a movement if they expect to see any change.
Russian soldier from the Kamchatka battalion cried that they had nothing and had to hold positions on the front lines, and that everything they had they bought with their own money.
He also said that Ukrainians were fully equipped and killed many of his comrades who didn’t die of hunger or cold.He asked to share that video, and Alexandra did. Russian authorities confirmed he really served in that battalion, but a video discredited the army.
Folks on Twitter like to mock Medvedev for massive consumption of vodka whenever he says something bizarre and extreme, but this is a blatant admission of genocide. He needs to be indicted by the ICC.
"The existence of Ukraine is deadly for Ukrainians. And I am not at all referring only to the current state, the Bandera political regime. I am talking about any, absolutely any Ukraine.
No matter how much they aspire to the mythical European Union and NATO. When choosing between eternal war and inevitable death and life, the absolute majority of Ukrainians (except for a minimal number of sick nationalists) will eventually choose life. They will realize that life in a big common state, which they do not love much now, is better than death. Their death and the death of their loved ones. And the sooner Ukrainians realize this, the better." - he wrote.
The excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages may have been a factor.
The photos he refers to are attached as comments to the tweet but they are rather gory, so I’m not including them.
Imagine an army where the commanders have to have guards to protect them from their soldiers.
This is not the first such case in the city of Vasilyevka. So, in December 2023 , a soldier of the 429th motorized rifle regiment shot two commanders . According to one of the servicemen of the regiment with the call sign "Circassian", since then the tense situation between officers and soldiers has remained in the unit . Moreover, officers are now always accompanied by personal guards, fearing for their lives.
The Russians wised up and moved the replacement A-50 much farther away, which, of course, reduces its usefulness.
Seems to me a shotgun would be better at taking out drones.
Or maybe you just need to duck at the right moment. This guy needs to play the lottery because his luck is incredible.
Russia wastes an Onyx missile.
Putin has put his finger on Russia’s cultural superiority over the West.
Meanwhile, in many parts of Russia …
France steps up.
I predict a movie will be made of this.
Last month 2 Ukrainian girls in Crimea have poisoned 46 ruzzian soldiers by bringing vodka and snacks laced with arsenic. According to ru telegrams the FSB raided their house but the girls shot and killed 3 and then escaped.
“The suspects in the death of 46 fighters resisted; unfortunately, it was not possible to detain them. The saboteurs turned out to be well armed and (we did not expect this!) Well-prepared. As soon as the special forces came to arrest them, they opened fire on them with pistols and automatic weapons.” the Russian special service said.
“We don’t know where the saboteurs are now. Three FSB officers were killed as a result of the shooting. Two more were wounded, one of them seriously. One of the criminals may also have been wounded, but it is unlikely that this wound was serious. The search for the saboteurs continues.”
Cows need love too.
He risked his life to save those swans.
