VP Kamala Harris kicked off this week as the keynote speaker at the NAACP South Carolina State Conference on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Mon. Jan. 15). She was greeted by skee-wees from sorors from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority 1908 (whose birthday is also Jan. 15).
Fundamental freedoms are under assault: freedom from fear, violence and harm; freedom to vote, to live, to learn, to control one’s own body; and the freedom to simply be. Full text of VP Harris’ speech: www.whitehouse.gov/...
AND as the joyful warrior she is, MVP Kamala Harris spread the joy by making a surprise visit to the University of South Carolina Gamecocks Women’s Basketball team.
The importance of VP Harris’ visit was expressed by Coach Dawn Staley:
ABC’s Mary K Bruce followed VP Harris throughout the day and though there were some of the usual jabs at VP, it was good to finally see some MSM coverage.
Jan 18. VP Harris made a live appearance on “The View” and she knocked it out of the ballpark in the panel discussion, so much so that they were freaking out on Faux News. "The View" has an audience of over 2 million people (mostly Democrats); importantly about 20% are independents. In my opinion, many of these independent viewers are persuadable voters, giving extra import to VP Harris’ stellar appearance on the show.
Here’s one, imperative, response from VP Harris to the question of whether the US has ever been/is a racist country:

The full show is a must watch:
This week’s coverage ends with VP Harris joining the U,S. Conference of Mayors Winter meeting in Washington, DC, for a conversation about reducing gun violence. Her remarks start at 8:40.
Coming up next week, VP Harris begins her Fight for Reproductive Freedoms tour. The first stop is in Waukesha County, Wisconsin (Mon. Jan. 22).
Reminder: VP Kamala Harris Roundup - Fighting for our freedoms is a weekly series, published on Tuesdays at 8 am ET. Please share widely. For daily updates, see my MVP Kamala Harris comments in the Abbreviated Pundit Roundup.
