There is no shortage of Good News for us, but we have to acknowledge that the MSM has gone mad, MAD I tell you, for the latest day’s news in the remaining year-long Elephant-Donkey race. Well, I won’t fight it, I just point and laugh as usual.

And remember, whatever the Wrong-Wing screams about, and much of the MSM tries to ignore, do more of it.

Bad News for Them
Rs are between a rock and a hard pIace (or for fans of Homer, the many-headed monster Scylla in its cave in a rocky cliff, and the ship-crushing whirlpool Charybdis). There is no way any of them can satisfy both the Ultra-MAGA and the moderates and independents. Never mind the polls that ask how they would vote today, and look at what they say about voting for Trump after he is convicted or disqualified.
The pointing and laughing is at gale force, along with the rage on behalf of our children, our rights, our democracy, and the world entire.

US DOJ: Critical Incident Review: Active Shooter at Robb Elementary School
On May 24, 2022, a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, shook the nation. In the aftermath of the tragedy, there was significant public criticism of the law enforcement response to the shooting. At the request of the then mayor of Uvalde, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) conducted a Critical Incident Review (CIR) of the law enforcement response to the mass shooting. In providing a detailed accounting and critical assessment of the first responder actions in Uvalde, and the efforts since to ameliorate gaps and deficiencies in that response, this report is intended to build on the knowledge base for responding to incidents of mass violence. It also will identify generally accepted practices for an effective law enforcement response to such incidents. Finally, it is intended to help honor the victims and survivors of the Robb Elementary School tragedy.
At 12:21 p.m., 48 minutes after the subject entered the school, the subject fired four additional shots inside classrooms 111/112. Officers moved forward into formation outside the classroom doors but did not make entry.
And so on in a litany of cowardice and incompetence among almost 400 law enforcement officers who responded.

That is to say that they have observed a supernova as it exploded, and immediately after they observed the gravitational effects of the neutron star that it left behind in an elliptical orbit around a companion, with an orbital period of 12 days. Previously we have seen neutron stars in supernova remnants observed hundreds of years or more before, such as Tycho’s and Kepler’s supernovae and the Crab Nebula.
The 'Dolomite Problem' Has Baffled Scientists for 2 Centuries—and Now They've Solved It
Although dolomite is relatively plentiful in rocks older than 100 million years, scientists have been unable to replicate the geologic process in the lab—until now. Using a transmission electron microscope, scientists “dissolved” defects as they formed on the dolomite crystal, speeding up its growth process. Understanding how these minerals form could unlock advancements in growing the necessary materials for semiconductors.
Utah engineers’ self-assembly techniques enable a new type of wafer-scale chiral matter
Published Nov. 15 in the journal Nature Communications, Gao and colleagues from the U’s College of Engineering, Rice University and Japan have demonstrated two methods for achieving engineered chirality in carbon nanotube films, known as “twist stacking” and “mechanical rotation.” These are extensions of the deposition technique Gao previously developed, known as “controlled vacuum filtration” or CVT.
With CVT, carbon nanotubes are suspended in water, and then flowed through a filter membrane. Grooves on the membrane form a template for aligning carbon nanotubes into the desired orientation. Once dried, the filter can be chemically dissolved, leaving a thin film of highly ordered carbon nanotubes at the wafer scale.
With “twist stacking,” the researchers produced multiple carbon nanotube films with traditional CVT, then layered them such that the overall orientation of the carbon nanotubes in each were rotated relative to one another. With “mechanical rotation,” the researchers spun the CVT filter as carbon nanotubes accumulated, producing a single film with a tornado-like pattern throughout the structure.
