Not long ago, there were 8 countries at 100% renewable electricity, and 12 more above 90%. The bottom of the heap is Turkmenistan, at 0.01%. This is remarkable progress and inexcusable delay at the very same time. Well, we’ll get there. Much of the problem is the familiar politics of denial and greenwashing. Some is the need to finance the factories to build the equipment for the factories to build wind and solar and storage components and systems.

Data are from IRENA for the year 2021. We don’t have results for 2022 or 2023, which should be even better.
That’s 118 TWh just in this group of countries.

Now, this year, we can add Scotland (not an independent country) to the list of cities, states/provinces and such also reaching 100%, or reaching some notable milestone on the way.
This context is irrelevant Oil and Gaslighting. The rest of the state benefits from 100% renewables shared from Sydney.
On the Moon
It was able to deploy its two rovers before an errant rocket blast sent it tumbling away from its touchdown point. One of them took this photo. Now their mission control has to measure how much power the main unit can store each Lunar morning, and how long that can be made to last through the rest of the two-week day.
Now, is it possible that a careful rocket pulse could set it upright again?
