For those who choose to leave Xitter, I advise you should NOT delete your account, especially if you have a unique user ID.
The point here is that if you delete your Xitter account, you give Elmo the gift of a new and perhaps valuable user ID to reuse. Plus your old UserID could end up in the hands of a NAZI and/or MAGA .
Since Elmo has made noises about taking some valuable UserIDs from people who go more than 30 days without activity, you could go online once every few weeks and post something small, like a “.” or “@ElonMusk is a Fraud” so that your account is shown as active and less likely to be swiped and reused. (Although Musky outright stole the @X userID because he wanted it, with zero compensation).
For example, I have the Xitter ID @JTG. I got it very early which is why I have a rare 3-character UserID. I have long been registering the JTG userID on new social media, including long ago on a small unknown startup called Twitter.
Over the years, I’ve had multiple attempts by people to try to steal @jtg, either by hacking or by other means.
In my case, there’s a pro wrestler who goes by JTG, a Japanese corporation called JTG, and a “Breastfeeding Advocate” called “Jenny The Great” who was telling her fans to post to my stream and she would answer their Xweets from her account until I blocked her. There are many other JTGs as well.
If I did leave Xitter, perhaps I could get some cheddar 🧀 by selling my @jtg Xitter userID?
