This is really an update to a previous diary I posted a few days ago. His offense: wearing his hair in long locs. I imagine most folks have heard of the devastating ruling against Darryl George last Thursday.
Barbers Hill ISD removed the Black 18-year-old student from regular classes Aug. 31, stating he was not complying with the dress code in regards to the length of his locs hairstyle. The Texas CROWN Act, which prohibits race-based hair discrimination, went into effect just one day later.
There was a lot of response in the previous diary, many of us wanting to help. One thing led to another, and I have been in contact with his lawyer (sent best wishes and support from the DK community) and she has reached out to us with a GoFundMe Link for Darryl. which has just been set up.

As of this moment, there are no contributions. I hope this is not how it continues. I hope we here at DK are not the only ones concerned about Darryl’s future. I choose not to believe that.
Anyway, I know she (Allie Booker) received messages from other DK members than just I, and this was done in response to that request. So please share and do what you can.
