Admin correction: the title and text of this story, “The media will not report that Trump appears to have middle-stage dementia,” have been edited to reflect accurately the content of Dr. Gartner’s remarks.
If you watch mainstream news, you know two things. Republicans get the lion’s share of the coverage even when they’re behaving in disgusting reprehensible ways. And you know that Joe Biden is old.
The horse-race media tells us that we have two “equally” bad choices — to support Trump who has promised to destroy democracy, jail the media and commit war crimes against his political opponents and Joe Biden, who is an old man.
Now I would say that the risk of the latter is easily worth taking considering the deadly danger of the former.
But there is another factor that the media refuses to report. Trump is losing his cognitive function.
There are those in independent media who have noticed this and speak about it frequently.
He says that God is now “confused” because of media indoctrination.
He says the Capitol of Israel — is Israel?
He says he’s going to protect the “context and content” of AM radio to make sure that it’s “Pro God.”
He can’t pronounce “Evangelical” or “Evangelist.”
He talks about “Post Birth Abortion” — which is simply impossible. That would be better known as “murder.”
He claims gas now costs as much as $8 per gallon when gas is actually down 40% during Biden’s term.
He claims not one thing has gotten better under Biden. [Except for Employment, GDP, Wages, Oil Production, Oil Exports, Clean Energy and the Stock market which are all up at record levels while Inflation and the Deficit are down.]
He says Prosecutors “are trying to get a guilty plea from the Supreme Court” on a lawsuit.
He says if he isn’t elected we’ll have a “depression” as bad as the 1920’s. [The depression happened mostly in the 1930’s.]
He believes and claims things that are simply demented delusions. Technically, he’s always made these kinds of statements, but it’s now worse than it’s ever been.
Dr. John Gartner suggests that Trump appears to be showing signs of dementia and Alzheimer’s.
According to psychologist Dr. John Gartner, formerly of Johns Hopkins University Medical School, Donald Trump's slurring and inability to sometimes formulate complete sentences appears to be a sign of growing dementia and possibly early stages of Alzheimer’s.

After telling Salon's DeVega, "There is also this focus on [President Joe] Biden's gaffes or other things that are well within the normal limits of aging. By comparison, Trump appears to be showing gross signs of dementia. This is a tale of two brains. Biden's brain is aging. Trump's brain is dementing," he was asked for evidence.
Trump, he noted, appears to be spiraling into "phonemic paraphasias" during his rally speeches, which he described as, "the substitution of non-words for words that sound similar—are not normally seen until a patient enters the moderate to severe stages of Alzheimer’s."

According to Gartner, "Some examples of Trump’s non-words: Beneficiaries becomes 'benefishes.' Renovations become 'renoversh.' Pivotal became 'pivobal.' Obama became 'obamna.' Missiles became 'mishiz.' Christmas became 'Crissus.' Bipartisan became 'bipars.' This is a fundamental breakdown in the ability to use language. If you were talking to your father on the phone and he did this you would think he is having a stroke. There is no healthy older person who speaks that way."
He also noted Trump's tendency to go off in odd directions while talking to audiences.
Referring to the former president's "tangential speech," he elaborated, "He just becomes incomprehensible when he engages in free association word salad speech that is all over the place. Again, that's a sign of real brain damage, not being old, not being slow, not losing a step not being, but of severe cognitive deterioration."
That’s bad enough, but Trump’s niece Mary — who is a trained psychiatrist — says that he has an “untreated psychiatric condition.”
Mary Trump, who holds a PhD from the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies, made virtual diagnoses while appearing on MSNBC's "The Last Word" with Lawrence O'Donnell.
"This is a person who has untreated psychiatric disorders," she said. "And any untreated disorder of any kind worsens over time, as long as it remains untreated. So, it makes perfect sense that somebody who is as unhealthy as he is, who is under the extraordinary amount of stress he's under, would have a harder time holding it together cognitively."
To illustrate how Trump has changed over the years, O'Donnell then played a video of Trump from more than two decades ago speaking eloquently about the strength of Manhattan skyscrapers being built on very durable bedrock.
"Who is that guy?" O'Donnell said after watching the video.
We get plenty of stories when Biden flubs a word or get one thing mixed with another it gets coverage for days — how about some reporting on this?
This is who he is, who the MAGA faithful are putting their trust in. It’s a bowl of wrong sauce mixed in a blender.
