First, I just want to thank all those who post articles here. I’ve learned a lot and gotten a lot of pleasure from the learning here.
Now, the reason for my blog. I watch a lot of TV news (mostly MSNBC, but also others from time to time), and what really frustrates me is that most interviewers (and/or journalists) do not ask the questions that will force the interviewee to actually THINK and FOCUS on what they are saying.
For instance, there is the MAGA crowd. “Make America Great Again.” I’m always wanting to ask them, “When was America so ‘great’ that you want to bring it back? Please give me specific years.” I want to see them really THINK about it.
There are other questions that often come to mind. I know some interviewers and journalists do not want to ask “sensitive” questions, and I agree that questions about their private life should be off-limits. But I think it’s OK to ask questions that reference their older positions and ask them what changed their minds. Specifically.
So I decided to post this so all of us could add QUESTIONS that we would ask! And maybe some of those interviewers/journalists will get some ideas from this!
(I also encourage posting about questions that WERE asked, and got real answers! Or ridiculous answers! It’s good to KNOW what we are dealing with.)
