And (of course) slathered in whitewash on a daily basis. On Trump-smeared MSNBC, rogue GOPer Sarah Longwell aptly stresses what should be painfully obvious. Namely, that Dystopic Donald seeks to “create an entire... government…. completely in service to him.”
Call it the Stepford State. Or J6 in slow motion. If that sounds harsh, let’s keep in mind how Donnie Darko proclaims he’ll assume the mantle of “Dictator” on Day One (and, no doubt, from then on). And how, for reporting some of the truth about him, he accuses MSNBC of “country-threatening treason.”
Hello. In vivo, the real world, or what have you, even BEFORE this week’s Republican National Committee purge, the RNC painted J6’s barely failed putsch as “legitimate political discourse.”
If that’s not un-American (boding far worse to come), George Washington was a Tasmanian devil.
Better late than never, let’s get real. For ANY position (let alone POTUS), how could voters EVER do worse than Agent Orange? Think of it. Suppose a career crook burgles your home. At trial, some procedural miscue scuttles the case against him, and he gets off scot-free.
So, of course, you bar your windows and doors, seek protective orders, and pray hard, right? Nope. Here in Trumped Land, you ask him to move in with you. (By analogy, then: the admitted [on tape] long-time habitual carnal assaulter/E. Jean Carroll defiler-and-harasser/routine business fraudster/state secrets hoarder/crony of brutal strongmen looks like a good bet to lie and bluff his way back into our White House. Ouch.)
As occasional MSNBC commentators Rick Wilson and Steve Schmidt, along with regular MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Nicolle Wallace (rueful ex-Republicans all) make plain, Trump’s true colors are anything but red, white, and blue. In effect, those who pretend otherwise cheer an undead coup. At our peril do we fail to grasp the fact that appeasers never prosper... while, ever more often, despots do so to the nth degree.
