I was watching a crime show, NCIS. It immediately made me think of an event with Donald Trump. Two Navy sailors played an MMORPG, massively multi player online role playing game, and it turned out that they were on the same ship. One of them was thought to be unwell. He convinced his competitor to engage in sword fights. The unwell sailor believed that he was immortal and identified himself as his character. The other sailor told the unwell sailor that there was only one way to prove he was immortal, wear heavy weights and swim to shore, dressed as an officer with a Naval Officer's sword. When asked when he would try to persuade the other sailor to do such a thing, he replied, "To win!"
People like this expect you to understand their reasoning and agree with them. I can't imagine how anybody could imagine that Donald Trump is well enough to dress himself, much less return to the White House and serve as president. This received attention at the time, but I think it's worth bringing back to the people's minds. How could anybody rational support Donald Trump ? This is March 18, 2021.

The Washington Post about how in the defendant's view, it is "common sense" for the rioters to hang Mike Pence
.
Former president Donald Trump said he considered it “common sense” for his supporters to chant “Hang Mike Pence!” during the Jan. 6 insurrection
.
.Because it’s common sense, Jon,” Trump said. “It’s common sense that you’re supposed to protect. How can you — if you know a vote is fraudulent, right? — how can you pass on a fraudulent vote to Congress? How can you do that?”
.
.
To say that Mike Pence was not in danger is as crazy as saying that it was "common sense" that the insurrectionists should hang him.

WATCH: Pence made it to secure location on Jan. 6 ‘barely missing the rioters,’ House committee says
The committee laid out evidence that there was not much distance between rioters who had breached the Capitol and the security personnel getting the vice president to a more secure location. This happened minutes after Trump sent out a tweet criticizing Pence for not taking action to overturn the election results that were in the middle of being tallied to certify Joe Biden's presidential victory.
WATCH: Jan. 6 committee hearings – Day 3
Pence and his staff made it to the secure location as the insurrection was underway, "Barely missing the rioters a few feet away," the committee laid out. The rioters were heard chanting "hang Mike Pence" while breaching the Capitol.

Trump Says Rioters Wanting to Kill Mike Pence on Jan. 6 Was “Common Sense”
.
Donald Trump was banned from the major social media services after the Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol. On that day, instead of de-escalating the situation, he used Twitter to denounce then Vice President Mike Pence because Pence, in his capacity presiding over the Senate, had refused to overturn election results. Some of Trump’s supporters, while they were breaching Capitol security, chanted “Hang Mike Pence.” It was a loud and sustained chant, and not just one or two people—you can see a video here. One eventually found Pence’s seat on the Senate dais and left a note reading, “It’s only a matter of time, justice is coming.” (According to the Washington Post, this person later told law enforcement that Pence is a “child-trafficking traitor.”)
Karl: Because you heard those chants—that was terrible. I mean—
Trump: He could have—well, the people were very angry.
Karl: They were saying “hang Mike Pence.”
Trump: Because it’s common sense, Jon. It’s common sense that you’re supposed to protect. How can you—if you know a vote is fraudulent, right?—how can you pass on a fraudulent vote to Congress? How can you do that?
