The Morning Open Thread consortium ( a term that fits us) is seeking writers to join our ranks. We have provided 12 years of daily banter, music and musings with plans to continue that commitment. You could assist us by contributing a tale (now or then) or take on the hosting duties of a weekday.
Please “Kmail” Officebss. or PCarey. to indicate your interest in becoming one of the MOTley Crew.
When we brought Buddy (formerly known as Rascal) home, he escaped from the back patio door and remained “At Large” for 6 days. We made fliers and spent every waking moment (day and night) searching the neighborhood for him.
A neighbor alerted us that Buddy was hiding under their shed. My wife jumped into action. She lured him out with canned tuna and we have coddled him since. A thorough check from the vet assured us he was fine with the extra pounds lost during his absence. Don’t worry, he swelled up to his former stature.
We have been anxious that he may repeat his performance, so measures have been taken.
We know that Buddy had been an indoor/outdoor pet for the10 years before coming home with us. We can’t keep him cooped up like a prisoner. So, I devised a system where he could spend unsupervised time in the garage (while having access to the open air). Here is my system.
I bought 24 feet of plastic chicken wire and a few hooks to attach it to the walls.
When the car is outside, the space is impressive (if you’re a cat).
Buddy and I are coming to an understanding. We hope to have a day with no barriers and the trust that we will both enjoy each other’s space.
