My grandson is at Outdoor School next week. My daughter says she’s told his sister that the two of them will be doing grown-up stuff while he’s gone, which includes (for the granddaughter) an Oregon ID and getting registered to vote. The cutoff to register for voting in the primary is April 30th.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

My second and her husband went to Texas (where specifically, I don’t know) to see the eclipse. From there, they came here, giving fond greetings to my firstborn’s shower, apparently. I knew they were going to be at the birthdays party at my sister’s on Saturday (my first, me, my sister), but they hadn’t mentioned they were coming here to visit until they told my firstborn they’d be arriving Wednesday evening. My daughter said they beat the nasty storms out by a couple of hours, and were seeing the lightning flashes all the way to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
My firstborn’s birthday was Friday. Mine is this coming Wednesday. My sister next Friday.
My physical therapist was supervising a doctoral student when I showed up for my appointment Wednesday morning. The student put me through quite a workout, and I seem to be doing quite well with my balance — at least I wasn’t having any trouble maintaining a straight-line walk while I was looking all sorts of different directions to order.
I had a late lunch with our visitors on Thursday. At Bottos BBQ just down the hill, that I had never been to before. What I ordered was truly fine — I will go back the next time my tastebuds set themselves for barbeque.
I got a begging letter from Trump Jr early last week. The envelope needed a stamp, so into the shredder it went. I think I’d have sent back a brick if it had been postage paid.

Love you guys!
