I think that vision is special because so many people only see one side of it.
Some people deny that there is inequality in America. They see the words of the founders and they assume that those words mean there is equality for all.
And other people deny that there is something beautiful and important about a country founded on the idea that there should be no king and ruling class. They focus on the inequality and see only ugliness in our nation.
If you deny the inequality that always did (and still does) exist, then you can’t lead us forward. If you deny the beauty and promise of our nation, then you will never see our amazing potential.
Joe Biden gets it. He’s moved by that vision. You can hear it in his speeches and interviews and in the thoughtful videos he’s put out, like this amazing fourth of July message he delivered in 2020:
And here he is just a few weeks ago, pointing out that you can’t love your country only when you win.
His actions as president have shown how much he values America and Americans. He won’t rest till we come closer — much closer — to making that founding vision a reality.
Is there still more work to be done? 100%! Lots more work. But Biden has done so much more than many people guessed could be done. He deserves a lot of credit. AND he deserves to be re-elected.
