Rebecca Lavrenz, a 71-year-old great-grandmother from Falcon, Colorado, was convicted on all four federal misdemeanor charges for trespassing the US Capitol on 06 Jan 2021.
During the rally, Rebecca Lavrenz took the microphone and spoke about the 1620 Mayflower Compact that America should be “dedicated to the glory of God” and “advancement of the Christian faith.”
“I felt I was there on assignment from God,” the defendant told the Denver Gazette in a telephone interview. (Undated public domain image)
“Just standing up for my country makes me a criminal,” Lavrenz said last week in a video she posted on X.
Ms. Lavrenz faces up to one year in prison and fines of more than $200,000. US District Judge Rudolph Contreras, appointed by President Barack Obama, will sentence the defendant following recommendations from the US Probation Department.
