Last night I read the Trump Time magazine interview. It took me about an hour and a half to get through the whole bone-chilling transcript. While he managed to hit on some of the policies, he rarely answered the interviewer’s questions, veering off topic, repeating himself, often making no sense. The interview left no doubt that this man is not capable of formulating the strategies his administration plans on enforcing.
I’ve been thinking alot about the invisible brainpower behind Trump and have been relieved to see that the media is now closely scrutinizing Project 2025. I know it’s been discussed here in stories before but reading about how organized and well funded this effort is was really terrifying.
Project 2025 is a sweeping rightwing blueprint for the next Republican president, Trump or not, to run the country for the foreseeable future. Funded by The Heritage Foundation, Koch Brothers and a vast and secretive dark money network, the project has recruited at least 80 far-right organizations and entities to the cause.
Conservative warriors’ plan “to defund the Department of Justice, dismantle the FBI, break up the Department of Homeland Security and eliminate the Departments of Education and Commerce,” the 30-chapter, 920-page tome says.
Project 2025 talks about the need to “rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left” beginning on Day One with an agenda and the people already in place. There is even a recruitment section where you can apply for an appointment to get to work on day one of Trump’s administration.
The Presidential Administration Academy is a one-of-a-kind educational and skill-building program designed to prepare and equip future political appointees now to be ready on Day One of the next conservative Administration. This academy provides aspiring appointees with the insight, background knowledge, and expertise in governance to immediately begin rolling back destructive policy and advancing conservative ideas in the federal government.
Regarding their book Mandate for Leadership
This book is the product of more than 400 scholars and policy experts from across the conservative movement and around the country. Contributors include former elected officials, world-renowned economists, and veterans from four presidential Administrations. This is an agenda prepared by and for conservatives who will be ready on Day One of the next Administration to save our country. The Heritage Foundation is once again facilitating this work, but as our dozens of partners and hundreds of authors will attest, this book is the work of the entire conservative movement.
I remember the horror of 2016, how we turned the television off at about 9 o’clock. Just couldn’t take anymore. Went to bed thinking there’s got to be a way out of this. This can’t be happening. This year people are telling me they don’t know if they are going to be able to watch on election night. It’s just too traumatizing. In 2016, I can recall thinking my sobriety was in danger. I wonder if I’ll feel that way this year.
So I’ve signed up with Third Act Bay Area. They are working on the elections as well as on climate change. I think I’m going to do postcarding this time rather than phone or text banking. Vote Forward is also holding letter writing campaigns to swing states and to US citizens who are living abroad.
