This evening Brian Hicks, Ohio Governor Taft's Chief of Staff was indicted for allegedly accepting free stays at Tom Noe's Florida house. This is no real surprise to anyone following Ohio politics. The most interesting potential part of this, however, and why it is worth diarying, is that it seems unlikely that Mr. Hicks will go quietly into the good night. Oh no. He has apparently entered into a plea agreement with the Columbus City Prosecutor. As the Dispatch matter-of factly notes . . .
Prosecutors are expected to seek the cooperation of Hicks and Carroll in other investigations.

It could get pretty interesting in Ohio. As chief of staff, Hicks was the gatekeeper to Governor Taft. There are a lot of people, both in the public sector and in the private sector who thought that they were bulletproof who may no longer be bulletproof.
