I thought this might be an interesting late-night diversion, and it gives me an excuse to talk about NBC's "Heroes". On election day last year, Dave's Long Box had a funny post analyzing the political affiliations of Superheroes. Click on the link above to get a full explanation, but here's the party affiliations.....
Superman - Moderate Republican
Spider-Man - Democrat
Wonder Woman - Socialist
Green Arrow - Total Fucking Communist
Green Lantern - Republican
Batman - Independent
Daredevil - Far Left Democrat
Iron Man - NeoCon Republican
Captain America - Truman Democrat
And what of the Incredible Hulk?
The Hulk – Libertarian
"Hulk just want to be left alone."

This leads me to "Heroes", where as promised someone flew and someone died, as well as.....
- A new mutant finds Ted (Radioactive Man/Unabomber) in the Nevada desert. Hana has the ability to intercept & transmit electronic transmissions, basically human wi-fi. She convinces Ted that she knows what the marks mean that Mr. Bennett & his organization have put on anyone with the mutant genetic structure.
- Mr. Bennett used Isaac's painting to track Peter & Claude (The Invisible Man). Using thermal goggles, they stun Claude & almost get Peter. However, Peter uses Sylar's power of telekinesis to stop the probes from hitting him, and then throws Claude off the building, catching him in midair and flying away.
- The health of Claire's mother continued to deteriorate. Claire finally confronts her father, about what he's been doing to her mother.
- Simone talks to Nathan about going public with the whole thing (the threat to New York, mutation, superpowers, etc.). Nathan disagrees, because he believes people would round them all up & send them to an island in the Pacific. This is either a reference to "Lost" or it could be a nod to Genosha in Marvel Comics. However, it is interesting that Nathan's fear of being a "lab rat" & isolated is pretty much what Mr. Bennett & his organization have attempted to do.
- Mohinder continues to be unaware that he's traveling across the country with Sylar, and endangering the lives of the mutants they find. This week they found a woman named Dale with "Super-hearing", to the point she could sense fluctuations in a person's heart-rate. Sylar takes her power, but suffers splitting headaches when he can't control it. However, he is able to convince Mohinder not to call the cops & report the woman's death, while keeping up the ruse that he's "Zane Taylor".
- Hiro was able to track down Ando & help save him from Hope. Hiro seems to have regained his power, since he's able to reverse time when Hope tries to shoot them at point blank range. However, it seems that it's different from his normal power, since it reverses time for Hope while the rest of the world moved at normal speed. Also, did Hiro do it (since his powers are on the fritz) or maybe someone else close to him? Hmmmmmmmmm? This experience convinces Hiro that his mission must be done alone, and he leaves Ando with the trusty Nissan Versa, to board a bus (which happens to be driven by Stan Lee).
- Mind reading ex-cop Matt's wife becomes angry after she finds out her ring is stolen property. She wants Matt to turn the diamonds in. However, Ted & Hana contact Matt and convince him to form a mini-Justice League, to go after Mr. Bennett. As Claire & Mr. Bennett bring home the family from the hospital, Ted & Matt bust in & take the family hostage.
- The episode ends with Peter confronting Isaac over his cooperation with Mr. Bennett. Isaac tells Peter he's trying to help him from becoming the bomb that destroys New York. However, Peter is infuriated because he believes Claude was helping him do just that, and now that Mr. Bennett has attacked them, Claude refuses to help anymore & leaves Peter to himself. Peter tells Isaac that the real reason he's helping Bennett trap him, is that he wants Simone to himself. Isaac tells Peter he did it for New York, and grabs the gun given to him by Bennett. Peter goes invisible & begins to taunt Isaac. Swinging the gun around trying to discern where Peter is, Isaac then hears a sound & shoots. It wasn't Peter, but Simone. She was coming through the door of the gallery to return her key & tell Isaac their relationship was over. Peter becomes visible & grabs Simone. She dies in Peter's arms, as he & Isaac look on in horror....
