In March 2003, George W. Bush had no way of knowing that his adventure in Iraq would kill 30,000 Iraqis and 2,100 U.S. troops as of today.
But today, in December 2005, he said he'd do it all over again even with that knowledge - and with the knowledge that there were no WMDs in Iraq.
"I made a tough decision," Bush said. "And knowing what I know today I'd make the decision again. Removing Saddam Hussein makes this world a better place and America a safer country."
The arrogance is, frankly, staggering. Even with the hindsight that his claims of Iraqi WMDs were nothing but a fiction, he would still take it upon himself to kill 30,000 citizens of a sovereign foreign nation to force "liberation" on them.
Can there be any remaining doubt that our president is a delusional megalomaniac with a messianic complex?
Addendum: I just noticed that gobacktotexas beat me to the punch with this. His diary is here.
