Hello and welcome to Got a Happy Story? I'm pretty much all out of happy lately. I believe in this Happy Story tradition that Canacki began on Jan 21,2005 and that tradition can use a little help. Help in the form of Kossacks stepping up and volunteering to write upcoming Happy Stories. Anyone interested?
The Happy Story is a place meant to be a weekly round up of comments dedicate to the good things in life. Got any family stories or good movies and books to share? How about happy home recipes or a night out on the town? You can place you happy stories and photos from the weekend here to forget those Monday blues. Have any new videos that put a smile on your face? Post links to the diaries you've written or just offer anything that will help others get through the week. Anything is appropriate. Put a smile on another Kossacks face or if things are not going so good, get that of your chest too.
The history of this series has always been personal accounts of reasons to believe, an apolitical diary about the joys we have. All I can offer today is what I can always offer, photos of recent sunsets. I hope you enjoy them and I hope that you feel like sharing some upcoming Happy Stories. There's plenty of room to volunteer in the comment section.
Since this is a Sunset diary and New York sunsets, I should mention that September is the most dependably clear warm weather month and a great month walking in the parks here. It is the reason some many movies can be seen shooting in this town every September. Why Barack Obama has been here almost every other day has something to do with health care reform but blame the clear skies for all the movie production traffic jams.
This was a nice sunset from September 10th. I was the night I wrote a very fine diary called Thoughts about the Walter Cronkite Memorial.
Here's a September 11th sunset, not last week but last year. Still it was one of my favorite views on that sad New York date.
September 13th was a nice hot one, more typical of September sunsets.
Four from September 14th.
I think September 15th wins first prize for last week.
I think the 16th was a washout and the 17th had an early sunset.
I never did see the sun on the 18th.
September 19th was interesting. It was what is more typical of September with a sun that was too bright to photograph.
But afterwards, spotlights or searchlights?
Last night.
Now here's a bonus, this morning's view. Well it was a bonus for me because of the reason I was up that early this morning. Turns out I do have a happy story. I went back to work today and full time work may last as long as a month. It may even last longer. That made the morning sun look even better. The sun in the east.
And the river in the west.
Tonight looks a bit like a repeat of last night's view. I'm surprised at how often back to back sunsets will mimic each other.
But it changed up and offered a different view.
Do you have a Happy Story? Both in tonight's comment section and in future diaries? It's not that I'm completely unhappy and having written so many of these I know writing for this series is a great cure for unhappy. It's just that I've done too many. So what do you think? Can I interest you in the Save the Happy Story program. All you have to donate is a diary on any given Monday. Help add diversity Happy Story.
