IMPORTANT: If you are or can be involved in any way with GOTV efforts in Wisconsin, do not get involved in this project. I do not expect to find any "smoking guns" in this email dump, but one never knows. I am attempting to get more info about the circumstances surrounding this, but the emails are legitimate. Boring, perhaps, but legitimate. I will post any details as I get them.
Scott Walker just released 7,289 pages of emails from an open records request that was filed a year ago and we need help crowdsourcing it before the recall election on June 5th.

Have at it and please post any juicy tidbits with links in the comments.
Thanks.
9:55 AM PT: I also hate to post and run. Be back later. I will update the diary later with anything you find that's interesting.
11:40 AM PT: A few things...
1. Nobody who can be out doing GOTV efforts right now should be looking at this.
2. If the timing is a deliberate attempt by Walker to distract GOTV efforts, see number 1.
3. Unfortunately, this was not the best day for me to do this, as I cannot tend to this diary until later this evening. It kinda fell in my lap. If it turns out to be a big nothing I apologize.
3:20 PM PT: OK, I have from an extremely reliable source that this email dump is the product of a public records request made about a year ago. My source says the researchers responsible say that the request was for any and all emails that mentioned any of the keywords below.
· state workers
· AFSCME
· AFL-CIO
· AFLCIO
· collective bargaining
· Koch
· quorum
· Wagner Act
· Americans for Prosperity
· Bradley Foundation
· prank
· demonstrators
· Flint hills
· Reiss Coal
· Georgia-Pacific
· 480
· KochPac
Again, if you find this tedious, distracting, or a waste of time, please move on to another diary. Crowdsourcing means a lot of people do a little bit each, so if you want to help, don't burn yourself out. If there is nothing new in the emails, it's good that we find that out. Pick a spot, dive in, and if you see something that might be interesting, post a comment with the page number and the relevant info.
5:22 PM PT: This one is just sad. Not only does a local AFSCME president stab her members in the back, she makes no connection between her great benefits as a state employee and the 50% pay cut she took when moving from Florida. To top it off, the Governor's staffer only paid attention because it had an apology from a union president. Sick.
