Fellow Kossacks. I need just bit of help. Not for myself, but to help Patricia Goff, someone I have never met. She lives across the Bay from me. She is being evicted from her home of more than thirty years some time in the very near future. Unless somebody does something.
Wells Fargo has continued its long, proud tradition of screwing it mortgagees in every possible way -- lying to her multiple times, breaking its promises and then deciding it was worth the company's while to throw out a sixty year old woman on disability and in serious distress.
The legal system seems to have almost given up on her. I am not going to give up on her. Will you help?
Partial transcript and action plan below the squiggle.
"I am less than 10 days from being evicted from my home... Worked for months to fight the unlawful detainer... Wells Fargo unlawfully moved forward and foreclosed on our home... letter after letter, and they all said "don't worry... you're NOT going to lose your home."
I've been incredibly ill, and injured. I am fully disabled... Car accident... Not able to keep up loan because my husband had to care for me... I am, am, really, just, at the end of the rope, and feel that I am almost at the end of my life because this is so destructive in every possible way.
We have tried to work with Wells Fargo... We were given extra time by the court and by Wells Fargo... I've incurred some additional disabilities... surgery just a couple of months ago... asking Wells Fargo just two weeks ago to give us extra time, let us pay $1500/month for two months to give us more time so that I was feeling better and Wells Fargo went away and came back the next day in the courtroom and said "No".
They promised that they would work with us during the 90 day extension they had given us from early on, they would work with us in good faith to reinstate the loan process. They did nothing. We were left with nothing to do but for me to go out of my mind... I've gotten nowhere... I really desperately need help. I can't survive this. This move...
Need a lawyer to draw up a cause of action against Wells Fargo... We have evidence of numerous things they have done that are illegal... A phone blitz to Wells Fargo executives... these are the people who have the power to turn these things around... We can't go rent a place because they ruined our credit. We need help to get through this and keep my home so we can get our lives back together... Twenty nine years of paying for this home... We don't want to leave our home.
I don't know exactly what the full battle plan is yet; the action is being coordinated by
Occupy Marin, not Occupy Oakland (although yesterday we may have started a process to get the couple a good foreclosure defense lawyer).
But for starters I want just a minute of your time. Please pick up your phone now and dial

It's Monday morning as I'm posting this. I would like Mr. Johnson to have an eventful day.
Tell Mr. Johnson that you are calling from ((wherever you are)), and that you have heard about Mrs. Patricia Goff of Mill Valley, CA and watched her video, you are disgusted at what Wells Fargo is doing to her, and you demand that she and her family be allowed to keep their home. The more of an impression that we can make that this is a national story the more likely Wells Fargo is to have second thoughts.
Then I'd like you to spread this diary, and the video, everywhere you can think of.
Just take a minute and tell Wells Fargo what you think of their intended eviction of Patricia Goff:

And rec this diary if you feel it is appropriate. Thank you.
For those in the Bay Area, A rally is planned in support of the Goffs and others in danger of foreclosure at the 4th St Plaza in San Rafael at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, July 11th.

Update: Mr. Jacob Johnson seems to be lying!
According to one of our callers, Mr. Johnson is disavowing any knowledge of the Goffs' case. But I have this from one of Occupy Marin's activisits:
I understand that Jacob Johnson is denying knowledge of this case. He is lying. I have a copy of a 2-page letter in front of me signed by Jacob Johnson to Denise Thomas (Patricia Goff's agent) "RE: Borrowers: John R. Graybill and Patricia Graybill Goff, Loan Number 0044646370," dated May 22, 2012.
The second paragraph starts, "It has been a pleasure being the single point of contact and working with you regarding your recent mortgage account inquiry on behalf of John R. Graybill and Patricia Graybill Goff."
The letter proceeds to discuss their history and ends with, "If you have any additional questions or need clarification regarding the information provided in this letter, please contact me directly at (877) 218-4356, extension 21277. I am available to assist you Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Central Time."

8:16 PM PT: Article about the Goffs in the Marin Independent:
Patricia Goff, 60, and her husband John Graybill, 61, were facing the possibility of eviction this week before they received a two-week reprieve Monday from Marin Superior Court Judge Faye D'Opal...
Occupy Marin and Occupy Oakland are both urging their supporters to phone Wells Fargo...
Vickee Adams, a Wells Fargo spokeswoman, said, "Unfortunately, even though we view foreclosure as a measure of last resort, there are circumstances in which we are unable to find an affordable
solution for a customer; that is currently the case in this situation."
Graybill ((Patricia's husband)) said that with the encouragement of a World Savings employee they took out a second equity loan of $600,000 — even though the house had most recently been appraised for just $243,000. Graybill said the World Savings employee lied on the loan application indicating that the couple had two new cars and $100,000 in home furnishings, which they didn't have. The loan featured an adjustable interest rate and balloon payments...
"The lenders structured these loans to force everyone who took one to come back and refinance. It was a fraudulent, bank refinance business model."
