This one is getting bad. Latest reports are up to 70 wells are at risk of being contaminated and explosive benzene could be leaking into basements via sump pumps. With the limestone bedrock in this area, apparently it is very hard to know where the gasoline spill is going to go and "difficult at best" according to one expert to remove.
Just another example of why our fossil fuel-based society is harming the very people who rely on it.

State has issued a water advisory. Residents within the advisory area, a fairly significant area, should not drink or cook with well water. Residents of one subdivision are being told to use water only for flushing toilets. No skin contact, no laundry, no watering gardens or lawns even.
It also appears the company is providing water filtration systems for all wells that are confirmed contaminated. Here's hoping they follow through with that. The state has already stated elsewhere that contamination could take 6-12 months to appear. Will the company still be around next summer providing bottled water and installing filtration systems if newly contaminated wells are found?
