Watching the GOP screw over different groups over the years: women, veterans, the poor, students, there's always a perverse pleasure I get from just how brazen they can be in their lack of empathy. Their utter meanness is like performance art. Oh sure, they could mask their uncaring deeds behind a wonderful argle-bargle of studies and theories about twisted incentives, lost agency, or just bromides about how they are really "helping people help themselves.". Fortunately for us, they just can't help themselves.
Redstate.com's Erickson has a post up this morning to respond to Republican attacks on Rep Phil Gingrey for saying congressmen and their staff should give up their Obamacare exceptions. This includes staffers that sometimes get paid shit, but at least they were getting subsidized health care. Now,according to Gingrey, no more.
See below for an example of the utter dickishness that will someday soon kill the GOP …
Erickson writes:
A House Republican Conference staffer replied to my tweet defending Gingrey before thinking better of it and deleting it. His deleted tweet to me was:
@EWErickson I don’t think you understand how attacking seriously poor hill staffers make you unpopular w those on the front lines
Erickson's response to this unfortunate staffer who is just trying to warn Erickson that real people will be hurt by his crusade?
Suck it up, Lumberjack.
And if that wasn't dickish enough for you, here's another one …
As an aside, maybe we need to term limit staffers.
To me, this is music to my ears because it means that the Republicans have dicked over so many people to keep it fresh, they have to expand their target list. If GOP staffers aren't safe, the unsung aides who are by their side day and night, then they really are serious about going down in a suicide pact. It really will be delicious to watch.

drill down to the comments at that Redstate post. They're worth it just to wallow in the self-destructive dickishness of Erickson's slavish followers
Poor baby Hill staffers, living from hand to mouth, clothed in rags, holding down part time jobs so they may buy bread. But yet heroically they cling to their jobs, for some reason or other. Could it be the money is good after all?
It's a damn shame that it's getting harder to differentiate between Republicans and Democrats.
Yes, Republicans, encourage your staffers to only show loyalty to money. Eliminate all traces of Democratic values like public service.
Maybe we should make an Amendment that states congressmen can have staffers, but they must be paid out of the congressman's pocket. Since there is no provision in The U.S. Constitution for staffers, there should be no requirement for the Tax payer to fund them.
That eliminates a lot of problems, and puts HUMBLE back into these irrelevant and frankly un-needed government LEACHES.
Oh my Gob, these are so delicious, they must be bad for me.
