Time is running out in 12 states, including Texas, for citizens to register to vote in this November's General Election. The deadline for the following states is Monday, October 6th:
Arizona
Arkansas
Florida
Georgia
Hawaii
Indiana
Kentucky
Michigan
Ohio
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Texas

Many citizens are unaware of these early deadlines and, as a result, fail to register in time to vote. So please spread the word to everyone you know who lives in one of the states listed above, especially if they have recently moved there.
Additional Resources:
For nonpartisan voting and election information, a user-friendly site is Nonprofit VOTE, with pages that provide clearly organized links to everything voters need to know about voting in each state.
The United States Election Assistance Commission also provides information as well as a voter registration form that can be printed out and mailed. Be sure to doublecheck the information regarding your state to find out whether it is okay if your voter registration application is postmarked (as opposed to received) on October 6th.
VoteTexas.gov, the site operated by the Texas Secretary of State, lists options:
You can register in person at your county Voter Registrar’s office. (In most Texas counties, the Tax Assessor-Collector is also the Voter Registrar. In some counties, the County Clerk or Elections Administrator registers voters.)
Or you can register by mail by obtaining an application from your county Voter Registrar’s office or the Secretary of State’s office. You can also pick up applications at libraries, government offices, or high schools.
The first step in get out the vote (GOTV) is to register voters, especially in states where voter turnout is low. Please take a moment to ask your family, friends, and neighbors whether they are registered to vote at their current address.
