Leading is hard ...
It's been about six hours since Republicans abruptly called for a recess, when it suddenly occurred to them that they didn't have the votes to pass the $1 trillion spending bill that had looked like such a sure thing, and we're still waiting. Technically, the government will shut down if a bill isn't passed in the House and the Senate and signed by the president by midnight ET ... but:

So there's that. But did I mention that just over six hours ago, this bill's passage was a sure thing?

Rep. Jim Moran, who favors the cromnibus, says Republicans have said they need 80 Democrats to pass the bill.
