Another Monday has come, and its time once again to see how the orange idiot has dug himself even deeper. Its the Monday good news roundup.
"This president deserves to be impeached," Walsh told CNN anchor Jake Tapper, noting that no representatives from the White House or prominent Republicans were willing to appear on Tapper's show to defend the president's recent conduct. "This president betrayed his country again this week. Would I vote if I were in Congress on the inquiry? There is enough we know now to vote to impeach this president. He stood on the White House lawn this week, Jake, and told two additional foreign governments to interfere in our election. That alone is impeachable. This is a strong term I’m going to use but I’m going to say it on purpose: Donald Trump is a traitor."
And part 76 of the “GOP tearing itself apart. A comedy of errors.” continues. And its not just Waslh either.
Republican leaders are struggling to settle on a clear message and effective strategy for responding to Democrats’ aggressive and fast-moving impeachment investigation of President Trump, thrown off by early stumbles and a chaotic White House that have upended efforts to set a steady tone.
With Mr. Trump effectively functioning as a one-man war room — doling out a new message, and provocative statements, almost by the hour — top Republicans have labored to find a unified response to push back against the inquiry and break through a near daily cascade of damaging information.
Its pretty hard to defend the indefensible. Who knew (Hint: We all knew.)
former Trump Organization executive says she thinks President Donald Trump may resign rather than face possible removal from office by impeachment.
"He does a lot of things to save face," Barbara Res, a former Trump Organization vice president, told CNN's Brian Stelter on Reliable Sources Sunday.
"It would be very, very, very bad for him to be impeached," Res said. "I don't know that he'll be found guilty but I don't know that he wants to be impeached. I think that's what this panic is about. And my gut [instinct] is that he'll leave office, he'll resign. Or make some kind of a deal, even, depending on what comes out."
Fingers crossed. Not gonna lie I don’t much care how we get rid of him, I just want him gone. Don’t go away mad Donny, just go away.
The lead attorney representing a U.S. intelligence official who came forward with a complaint against Donald Trump says his firm is now representing “multiple whistle-blowers” in connection with the matter, a new twist in the impeachment inquiry of the president.
Andrew Bakaj’s comment followed a report by ABC News on Sunday that a second individual has come forward with details about Trump’s efforts to get the Ukrainian government to dig up damaging information about a political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.
Oh yes. When it rains it pours. It never stops. And its only the beginning folks. Trump, retirement is still on the table. Come on guy.
He promised to run government like a business and basked in his nouveau riche success. He rode a wave of populism that boosted his fame within the Republican Party. Then he squandered it all when he broke the law on the White House lawn.
About a week after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced a formal impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump, the end came for one of his most ardent followers in Congress, New York Rep. Chris Collins. Though the outcome of the president’s own predicament is likely months from a resolution, the rise and fall of Collins, a boastful, head-butting, self-proclaimed political outsider with a knack for making enemies, offers, in some respects, a version of the Trump saga in miniature.
Collins, 69, leveraged his notoriety as the first Republican member of Congress to endorse Trump to hold on to his deep-red district in western New York despite a federal indictment. Then, on Monday, after more than a year of insisting on his innocence, he resigned and pleaded guilty to two felony insider trading charges, including conspiracy to commit securities fraud and lying to the FBI. His sentencing is scheduled for January, and he faces up to five years in federal prison for each count.
Ah yes, this happened this week. I’m kind of mad because Collins called it quits just hours after I wrote last weeks GNR, so I wasn’t able to include it. But that wont stop me from doing some grave dancing on Collins career now. I’m only sorry that McMurray wont have the pleasure of crushing him fair and square, but the important thing is that he’s GONE. And with any luck Trump will be joining him very soon.
That’s it for this week. As always check out the GNR Spotify playlist, and have a good Monday one and all.
