Daily Kos is Banning Jews Again

by JayinPortland

Well, there's a fucking shock!

No, really!

Apparently, since I'm not a good little kapo, like every (appropriately-named) Kossack's favorite ass-sucking antisemite, David Harris-Gershon, it seems that I have once again been notified that I am no longer welcome to participate here.

Well, boo-fucking-hoo.

I'm only slightly less upset at being declared persona non grata here, than I would be at Stormfront or Mondoweiss.

At least those places are open as to what they're about, unlike sick, vile antisemites like elfling, who have never known a Jew they didn't wish wouldn't just shut the fuck up and accept their all-seeing 'wisdom.'

Here's a horse for you to ride, elfling.

Why you allow vicious antisemites to continue to post here is beyond me, but yet it's clear to many that a pro-Hamas "left" is indeed emerging, and this site is one of the places which nurtures same.

Earlier this week, you had a real, true-to-life, liberal Democratic Pennsylvania State Senator post here, yet the diary passed with no notice whatsoever, while an alleged 'response' from an ignorant antisemite who isn't fit to spit-shine Daylin's shoes, makes the rec-list.

Well, great job!

Hey David, why did you really 'cancel' your alleged 60 Minutes interview?

Is it because you were lying about the 'interview' in the first place, or was it because you didn't want to be embarrassed on national teevee when somebody asked you why you would, you know, embrace the terrorists who tried to kill your wife, and who did, successfully, kill and maim numerous others?

Fuck the "Let's Go Hamas / Let's Go Iran!" crowd here.  You tired hacks defeat yourselves, but I just had to add that as well.

Yeah, now go ahead and talk shit about me after I'm banned for speaking truths.  But for all those who do, go fuck your mothers, you neo-Nazi shitheads.

Boko Haram Keeps Killing

by JayinPortland

The child kidnapping irhabi maniacs of Boko Haram are still committing mass slaughter in Nigeria, and are gaining ground in the strategic hilltop region of Gwoza, according to sources.

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria — Fighters from Nigeria's Boko Haram militant group seized the northeastern town of Gwoza, overwhelming soldiers based in the area before attacking civilians, security officials and a witness said on Thursday.
Northeastern Nigeria is unfortunately no stranger to terrorist violence.
Dozens of our people have been killed by the attackers, some were slaughtered and many others shot with guns,” said resident James Mshelia to AFP.

Boko Haram is blamed for the killing of more than 10,000 people since the start of its militant Islamist offensive in 2009 across northeastern Nigeria.

Gwoza has experienced Boko Haram’s savage attacks before. The town’s emir was killed by the extremists in May. On Wednesday, his son and successor, Mohammad Idrissa Timta, was said to be missing.

Neighboring Cameroon looks to be next.
The Nigerian Islamist movement Boko Haram has recruited and trained hundreds of young Cameroonians to carry out attacks in their own country, according to the police and civilians.

As the militant group seeks to gain a foothold in the poor, rural north of Cameroon, experts warn that violence may spread beyond border areas to other parts of the central African country.

"Boko Haram has recruited many young people" from Cameroon's Far North region, a police officer from the area told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The hardline movement, whose loosely translated name means "Western education is forbidden", has for years sown terror throughout Nigeria's northeast, then trained youths "to attack Cameroon", the officer said.

~~~
This is a challenge for Western civilization to meet.
We need to stand up to, and against, vicious gangs like this, and let them know that terror is a losing proposition.
The people of Nigeria and Cameroon and everywhere else that Boko Haram practices its terror need to know that we stand with them.
Now that we've finally paid some long-overdue attention to the Yazidis, hopefully we can focus on freeing others from the maniacal terror which threatens them.
It's the truly liberal thing to do, after all.
Fool me once, shame on me.
Some 20 rockets were found Wednesday in a school in Gaza operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, the organization confirmed Thursday
These missiles were later returned to Hamas 'experts' for 'disposal.'  Or, in other words, for shooting at Israeli civilians.
Can we say "complicity in war crimes?"
~~~

But hey, let's give UNRWA a pass for now.

Fool me twice?  Shame on anyone but them, I'm sure...

Today, in the course of the regular inspection of its premises, UNRWA discovered rockets hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip. As soon as the rockets were discovered, UNRWA staff were withdrawn from the premises, and so we are unable to confirm the precise number of rockets. The school is situated between two other UNRWA schools that currently each accommodate 1,500 internally displaced persons.

UNRWA strongly and unequivocally condemns the group or groups responsible for this flagrant violation of the inviolability of its premises under international law.

Those missiles later ended up 'missing.'  Wink wink.

~~~
But hey, fool us a third time?
UNRWA said it found a rocket cache in one of its central Gaza schools on Tuesday, the third such incident.
“This is yet another flagrant violation of the neutrality of our premises. We call on all the warring parties to respect the inviolability of U.N. property,” spokesman Chris Gunness said.
We must be UNRWA!
~~~

Don't take my word for it, though.  Listen to former (2006-2011) UNRWA chief John Ging -

~~~
The silence from those who blame Israel for everything is, as usual, deafening, but I would argue, for one, that it's long past time UNRWA is investigated for its enabling of war crimes, and is held responsible for its complicity with an internationally-designated terrorist organization.
Daily Kos: Israel
by JayinPortland
If you follow this site regularly you'd lately be led to believe, from certain quarters, that Israel is comically evil, and that the racist, antisemitic, misogynistic, cowardly terror organization Hamas is the most progressive thing to have ever graced our planet since sliced bread.
A simple search on the tag shows you this.
I have, personally, just a few minutes ago, been accused of supporting killing and kidnapping children.
I'm pretty sure I can reasonably claim innocence of those fantastic charges.  If anybody wants to claim otherwise, they can call the Philadelphia police department, 26th district (215.686.3260), a few blocks from my home, and report my horrific crimes to Lt. Michael Zimmerman.
Some here might even know my name, which would surely advance their cause there, and I'm sure he'd be right on his way to my home here to lock me up forever!
(can we now get back to reality, now?)
Here we have liberals and conservatives agreeing with common sense points, with one of the most liberal studio audiences in America cheering along with these obvious points -
Jews Stoned in France Today
by JayinPortland
Two synagogues were attacked in Paris this evening, its members only finally being free to return home after riot police intervened, as part of a sad, continuing trend in the nation which currently hosts the largest remaining Jewish population in Europe, though of course not one without a quite troubled history of its own.
Which clearly seems to be continuing.
I would like to think that reasonable people can agree that attempted pogroms in 2014 Paris are not simply "mere criticism[s] of Israeli government policies."
Six protesters were arrested, police said.
Prime Minister Manuel Valls condemned the attempted synagogue stormings “in the strongest possible terms”.
“Such acts targeting places of worship are unacceptable,” he said in a statement.
I would dispute the characterization of those who stone Jews as mere "protesters," myself, and I would also suggest to Mr. Valls that the fact itself of organized mobs seeking to kill those of any ethnic group is what is completely unacceptable, and not just their attacks on a place of worship.
But I suppose his statement was ultimately welcome and reasonable, nonetheless.
Sderot is Burning.
by JayinPortland
Imagine if the closest town to you was on fire due to terrorists shooting rockets at you.
The nightly news would consist of nothing but the situation you faced.  And rightly so.
In Southern Israel, at least 40 rockets have struck ground from Gaza since January, and a massive factory blaze was just put out this evening by Israeli fire fighters.
Four workers who were in the factory at the time it was struck by the rocket managed to rescue themselves, escaping from the blazing building, reports Walla!. The four were reportedly unharmed, and police continue to search if anyone remains trapped inside.
One man in his fifties suffered mild injuries including wounds to his limbs, apparently from the blast of the rocket and ensuing explosions in the factory. The injured man was able to get to a Magen David Adom (MDA) station in the city on his own, and then was evacuated to the Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon by paramedics.
Have you heard of this?  Can you imagine living in this situation?  Do you angrily blame Jews for what you perceive to be 'human rights abuses' while completely ignoring attacks such as this?
The Iron Dome anti-missile defense system on Friday evening intercepted two rockets from Gaza towards the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council in southern Israel, just hours after a barrage of three rockets exploded in the Eshkol Regional Council, and a mortar shell was fired from Gaza as well.
Ahead of the rockets, the IAF conducted an airstrike, targeting a car in Gaza and killing two terrorists. The two terrorists were identified by the IDF as Osama Hasoumi and Mohammed Fasiah, who were liquidated over being involved in the recent rocket escalation.
That IAF strike followed attacks emanating from Gaza on Friday morning, when a bomb exploded near troops manning Israel's security fence. The blast went off as an IDF patrol passed through the area, in what apparently was a targeted attack.
Israel will continue to defend herself, by any means necessary.  Terrorists be damned...
On May 1, Pennsylvania will become the latest state to (re-)institute asset testing for food stamp recipients by order of Governor Tom Corbett, a measure which even top Republican legislators in our state are opposing.
This move, unfortunately, does not require state legislative approval, so here in Pennsylvania we will once again (the old PA asset test was overturned by Democratic former Governor Ed Rendell in 2008) soon join the sad list of the handful of states which will require those in need of food assistance to... beg harder, I guess.  Because to folks like our governor, poor people can never be shamed enough, apparently.
I tried.  I failed.  I can live with that.
Three weeks ago I was going nowhere, stuck in a dead end with no apparent way out.  Then...
A light!  Everything aligned!  My landlord inexplicably put me on a month-to-month lease, after 4 years of 12-month leases, and I said, I said...
"Oh shit, I'd better call them and get myself on another one-year lease so I don't get kicked out.  After all, the hipsters have discovered my SE Portland neighborhood so I'd better lock myself in while I can!"
But then after a second, I says to myself, I says...
...hey now, wait a minute.
Teaneck is a town of roughly 40,000 in North Jersey, not more than a dozen miles from Manhattan and just a few miles from my family's 'home base.'  It's also one of the most diverse towns in the state, if not the entire country.  With significant populations of African Americans, Dominicans, Jamaicans, Puerto Ricans, Filipinos, Irish, Italians, Poles, Germans and Russians, as well as one of the largest Jewish communities in North America, one would think this would be one of the last places one would encounter a WiFi network named "F--- All Jews And N------" in the town's community center.
One would be wrong, unfortunately.
A bigot named their WiFi signal “F--- All Jews and N----” — and now cops are investigating.
The hateful signal I.D. popped up on the iPhone of a 28-year-old mom inside a Teaneck, N.J. recreation center, where her 3-year-old daughter was attending dance class.
The offending signal was coming from a router connected in the Richard Rodda Community Center in the the township, located 10 miles outside New York City.
Crossposted from The Progressive Zionist
I opened my mailbox here in Southeast Portland on Saturday morning and pulled out the last ever copy of The Jewish Review, the semi-monthly newspaper which has served our community in Oregon and Southwest Washington since 1959.  Twenty years before I was born, and even longer before I eventually settled here.
A half century and then some of the Jewish Review
Portland 1959. Not the scene we know today. Not according to a 1957 survey taken by the Jewish Welfare Federation of Portland, now known as the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland. Out of a population of 570,000, they said, 7,892 were Jews. The majority lived in the Northeast and Southwest, almost half were self-employed, 68 percent belonged to a synagogue, and 46 percent were foreign-born.
A Jewish newspaper, the JWFP decided, is what the city needed. Since the 1940s, federations around the country sponsored them. Portland’s last publication, The Scribe, stopped printing in 1953. The first issue of the Portland Jewish Review ran Jan. 1, 1959.
A little over 32 years ago I was born in a Lakewood, New Jersey hospital.  Mom and dad were living with family down there at the time, for a few years... one of my sisters was born there and then shortly thereafter we moved back up to North Jersey.  Where both sides of my family, Irish and Jewish, made their home here in this country from their motherlands.  The former in the early 1800s, the latter in the early 1930s.
Passaic, my favorite small city in the world.
Anyway, back to Lakewood.  My first childhood memory was around 3, staring out the window of my aunt's house right before mom and dad took me by the shoulder and brought me out to the moving truck, with my infant sister, and drove us about an hour up the Parkway to 154.
LAKEWOOD -- Police arrested five people — three adults and two juveniles -- charging them with bias intimidation after an egg throwing rampage targeted Orthodox teens, said Police Chief Robert C. Lawson.
This incident was not included in my diary from Monday, as it just happened last week.
