I know Bayh is their senator, but iirc Bush won the state by 20 points. (I'm too lazy to lookup the results, but am pretty sure I'm close.) :)
I grew up in east central Illinois and visited Indiana many times, especially Indianapolis. I know there's a large redneck contingent just like there is in Illinois. However, I figured Indianapolis would counter some of the redneck factor. Obvioulsy it's not Chicago, but it's a rather big city. Also, isn't the northeast Indiana with Gary quite blue? And what about Lafayette, South Bend and Bloomington w/ Purdue, ND and IU??
In all I'm surprised that Iowa is blue than Indiana. Is that due to the farm industry in Iowa?? With Indianapolis, northeast Indiana, South Bend, Lafayette and Bloomington, Dems should put more emphasis on the state. Can Larry Bird run for Senate?? Kidding about Larry Bird. ;)
