Reuters is reporting that the owner of the Oak Hill General Store in Standish, Maine displayed a sign in his store asking customers to place a bet on the date of President Obama's assassination. Standish is a town of 9.285 in Cumberland County which is in southeast Maine. Cumberland County went to Obama 64%-34%. I am all for free speech but is this really something that falls under that protection? For the full text of the sign and my thoughts go below the fold.
While not overly surprising considering how absolutely worthless our local paper is here in town I am sad to report that the Columbus Dispatch has endorsed John McCain.
If Barack Obama can hold onto his lead he will have succeeded not only in winning the Presidency but he will also have changed American politics forever. All Presidents have changed history, but not many Presidents have changed politics. It will not be that he is the first African American President, although historic. It will be in the way campaigns are run and the manner and dignity in which we expect our candidates to behave. This is my hope, and for this reason I say that a narrow win is not enough.
The response was probably what we all expected but still made my jaw drop. She honestly believes she did nothing wrong.
If you read the report, you will see that there was nothing unlawful.
This woman's brazen disregard for reality is becoming the thing of legend, if you dare it gets worse below the fold.
Who knew ABC News actually did follow up? They apparently have caught Palin in a lie from her debate with Senator Biden. Just what did she lie about? Follow the jump...
I am no psychologist or psychiatrist and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I believe I know the reason John McCain wouldn't make eye contact with Barack Obama last night. The reason is that he is embarrassed by his own campaign and what it has done to him. More after the jump...
Well who should the nominee be looking at as his running mate? Why do John McCain's cheeks look so puffy? Who gives us the best chance at a balanced ticket? Should it be a woman? Who doesn't love a poll on a Friday afternoon?
