Earlier this summer the Democratic Nation Committee launched a "Raise Your Vote," effort. The intention was to be a massive voter registration drive, in hopes to bring back the young voters of the '08 election.
This is exactly what we, as Democrats, need to push us over in those "51%-49%" or "49%-51%" races. Most polling shows that The 2010 Midterm elections will provide gains for the Republicans, but imagine what the numbers would look like without the 10 million voters that the OFA contacted and the many young voters the "Raise Your Vote" campaign registered.
President Obama has accomplished many things that the media and electorate have chosen to ignore. One of these accomplishments is not just running for President and winning....but creating a movement. President Obama and the DNC created the Organizing for American and Raise Your Vote campaigns that will continue to push for a Progressive America.
Below are just some of the stars that came out in support for President Obama and the Democrats and asking everyone to Raise Your Vote:
With the 2010 midterm election around the corner (Vote People, Vote!). For many of us political junkies---That inner excitement/jumpiness that we haven't felt in a couple of years is back. Most of us are phone-banking, knocking on doors and donating (AND ALL OF US WILL VOTE).
As a 17 y/o Politco, this election cycle has been...well...interesting. If you turn on the Meet The Press for longer than five minuts, you will be informed by the over-zealous David Gregory that Republicans will pickup every single seat up for contention. Maybe I'm still new and ignorant to this----but I don't think so. We might not like election night results, but I really don't see how Americans can vote for people like Ken Buck, Sharon Angle and Christine O'Donnell.
Although no final decision has been made because of family considerations, ABC News has learned that White House officials are preparing for Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel to announce on Friday -- as Congress adjourns for recess -- that he is leaving his post to explore a run for mayor of Chicago.
White House officials expect that President Obama will also name an interim chief of staff, perhaps senior adviser Pete Rouse, at the announcement.
Sources close to Emanuel cautioned that he has yet to pull that last trigger on the decision.
Emanuel's likely departure is not a surprise; his mayoral aspirations are well known.
This will become a live-blog of the interview, once it begins. Just one day after the nail-biting primaries (most of the "nail-biting" coming from the other side) MSNBC's Rachel Maddow announced a huge "Get"---
an interview with the Vice President of The United States, Joe Biden!
Like Ipreviously diary-ed Ed Schultz, on his Friday show announced that he would be featured at the 10.2.10 One Nation Working Together March.
Now I understand that Ed is not everyone's cup of tea---and I understand why some of you guys are angry---but I must respectfully disagree. Ed has a daily radio station listened by over 3.5 Million people and a Cable News TV show that is watched by over 750,000 viewers. He has a strong following and will bring some needed attention to the 10.2.10 March.
I appreciate his efforts and can't wait for the March.
Today, Ed, on his website undated his plans for the March---
If you haven't heard about the 10.2.10 March yet, than you've either not been paying attention or you've only been watching Fox News.
In short, the "One Nation Working Together" March will be be held on 10.2.10 at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, beginning at 12:00 noon.
ONWT stance: "We all deserve a just and fair chance to achieve the American Dream. Our national identity is rooted in the ideal that all people – regardless of race, class, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, heritage or ability – should have the opportunity to fulfill their potential.
One Nation Working Together will chart a bold, pragmatic path toward a more unified, sustainable, prosperous future by building support for these core principles and policy ideals."

Well...this is pretty "BREAKING" and pretty exciting.
I am watching "The Ed Show" RIGHT NOW...and Ed Schultz is kicking Glenn Beck's ass all over the place---but the best part was hearing him announce that he will be speaking at the October 2nd 2010 March.
To be held at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC
This Matters. A LOT.
This is huge. Why? Before now, you would be hard-pressed to find ANY coverage of this March on television.
With Ed joining the board---and quite enthusiastically, I might add, this will be a month of T.V. Promotion!
I figure the 2012 predictions will start nonstop bombardment the day after the 2010 election, so I'm getting in early. Here's a completely useless rundown of Republican candidates, guaranteed to be ...
