Hillary Clinton campaigned in Iowa and New Hampshire on the basis of her pledge to support the national party decision taking away Michigan and Florida delegates for scheduling early primaries in violation of party rules. Obama and Edwards made the same pledge. Had Hillary not done so, she would have lost Iowa by an even wider margin and lost New Hampshire as well. This contest would be effectively over.
Now, in the wake of her huge loss in South Carolina, Mrs. Clinton has reneged. Yesterday she declared that she would urge her delegates to vote to seat the Michigan and Florida delegates at the convention. Today, to make matters worse, she has announced that she will go to Florida for next week's primary. The woman has no character, and no shame.
There is only one appropriate response to this pitiful conduct. The Democratic National Committee and the New Hampshire and Iowa State partys should promptly decertify all delegates won by Hillary Clinton in those states as a result of her dishonest and fraudulent campaign waged on a promise she has now broken. And no Democrat should vote for her in future primaries. The American people will not elect her.
