Tonight was a pivotal and disgusting moment of House right-winger demonstration of their total lack of humanity...much like the famed "47%" moment during Romney's campaign which revealed him to be the cold plutocrat he is.
I discovered tonight's unbelievable events while looking over some earlier "recent diaries" here to see the one posted by dagnone which described what happened. I then went onto CSPAN and if you bring up their video on their homepage of today's main house debate and vote on the fiscal cliff and go to about thirty minutes before it ends...just when Steney Hoyer comes up to speak about the pending adjournment without action..you will see it displayed then in all its sorry detail.
After making Sandy victim's wait a full nine weeks before they would agree to take up emergency relief, and finally breaking it up into two bills for $27 and $33 billion to allow Teapartiers to consider the $60 billion already okayed by the Senate and to disallow the part they considered "pork"...and with the full understanding that the bills would be taken up before final adjournment for this session, they suddenly, after the Fiscal Cliff vote decided to not allow it at all.  This produced outrage by speakers from both sides of the aisle.  And when there was a decision to cut off debate and adjourn for the night...a voice vote produced many more nays than yays but it was still adjourned anyway to audible boos ringing through the chamber.

Here's the link from CNN's story  :http://www.cnn.com/...

I became so infuriated when I saw this spectacle that I tweeted anyone I could..and tried calling the Congressional number mentioned by a furious Charlie Rangel...which is 202-225-3121. I especially tried reaching the folks at CNN and MSNBC hoping they'd spotlight this on their Monday shows..since I feel that it is so shameful..and can be the final straw for so many in the public who are finally learning and appreciating the GOP's inaction on just about anything in their record do-nothing Congress...and if displayed enough can be the Tea Party's shameful "47%" moment.
And I want, of course, more people to show their outrage too..so that this awful action can be reversed in the morning so that the whole Senate 62-32 vote doesn't die also with the end of Congress on Thursday.

Hi...just a brief diary to help me better follow the still emerging election results. Thanks to Kos I have been able to link to Dave Wasserman's Twitter page and also to his great popular vote constantly updated vote spreadsheet.
But I noticed in one of his tweets and also in a few of Kos's diaries the fact that as of about a week ago Obama's edge in the House had risen to over 500,000. I wanted to know if anyone has a source...a link...to constantly follow what the totals are with House national voting...as the President's own popular vote margin keeps rising and Romney's percentages keep falling.  Also I also wonder if anyone knows the actual number of seats won by Democrats there...Last I heard it was 7 or 8 with a few still outstanding but that was again about a week ago...And what is the actual breakdown of Dem seats vs Rep seats for the new Congress?
Turning to Ohio, I have been waiting to see a flood of provisional and absentee totals emerge..I was disappointed to see Obama's edge in Ohio only about 1.8% but thought that once those uncounted ballots would be released that his winning margin there would likely grow. Right after the election I had read that Husted was in court trying to overturn a decision to limit his throwing out of provisional ballots he deemed not completed correctly and that at some point he had to show why these ballots should not all be counted. I wondered if anyone knew if that was decided yet..and if the bulk of these absentees would be released any time soon. I had seen on Wasserman that a few days ago results from about 24 voting districts came out but they were mostly in Republican areas.
Any help on any of these concerns would be greatly appreciated!

Final IBD/TIPP poll: O 50.3 R 48.7

by lesboy66

Back from the hurricane, IBD/TIPP just released their last poll covering the past few days...The stats and charts are in their summary:

Lost in this last day of last minute efforts and poll-watching is the fact that Gallup which has been adding info to their site about their final poll in dribs and drabs (longer anaylsis to follow later today they say) has along with their finding that Romney was +1 LV and Obama +3 RV is also saying that the Prez's approval number ticked up to 52% (from 51% a week ago) and disapproval moved up too one point (45 from 44)
All year long the pundits have said a re-elect necessity for an incumbent was at least 50% approval..so here in the least of positive polls this year for Obama isconfirmation that he indeed meets that important test.

Real or fake? Ras now R+1

by lesboy66

I know that some folks have said with the return of Gallup today to expect a little dissonance from all the good news yesterday but I noticed this morning that Rasmussen went back to a small Romney lead. They can make up for it as they have one more poll tomorrow morning...but I was thinking maybe this may be cooked to some degree to get the Repub faithful to not give up hope.

I did notice though that Rand had an increase for Obama today; not noted yet in any of the diaries I saw.  He now has a 4.39% lead.  Here's the link:

I also checked to see if the IBD/TIPP poll is back up and they say they will be doing one more tracker tonight after midnight.

New PPP poll of Arizona, Montana a mixed bag...no surprise on GOP tilt for Prez; Carmona drops to -5 probably bec of negative comments during debate saying moderator was prettier than Candy Crowley; but great to see Tester continuing to hold a 2% lead in Montana
